Publication number: 20080282575Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the drying of water-containing, preferably plate-shaped products in a throughflow dryer in multi-level construction, and such a dryer for carrying out the method. The invention aims to suck away moist air stagnated under the housing (2) in a dyer of the above mentioned type and to transport this moist air into the suction area (12) of the axial blowers (9) arranged in the lower levels, and thereupon to differentially admix moist air into a quantity of drying air and deliver it to the nozzle boxes (5) of the dryer.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 11, 2006Publication date: November 20, 2008Applicant: LINDAUER DORNIER GESELLSCHAFT MBHInventors: Alfred Dotzler, Anton Hecht

Publication number: 20040000068Abstract: Instead of desiccating articles of clothing by spinning the articles, the method and apparatus according to the invention removes moisture from these articles by pressing or drying them with the aid of hot air. Desiccation of the clothing articles occurs gently and with a low expenditure of energy by subjecting the articles to the action of at least one gas jet and, in particular, of a compressed air jet, which is not aligned parallel to the surface of the article of clothing to exert a force upon the article. Advantageously, the article of clothing is subjected to the action of gas jets on both sides.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 27, 2003Publication date: January 1, 2004Inventors: Edwin Bolduan, Wolfgang Proppe

Patent number: 6557268Abstract: The invention relates to a dryer (1) for drying continuously conveyed products, e.g. a warp, comprising essentially a first dryer array (2) and a second dryer array (3). A passage (4) for passing through the product (W) is formed between the dryer arrays (2, 3). The second dryer array (3) is configured in such a way as to be able to move in relation to the first dryer array (2). When the dryer (1) is in stop position (S), the second dryer array (3) is disposed relative to the first dryer array (2) in such a way that the cross section of the passage (4) is bigger than in the operating position (B).Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2001Date of Patent: May 6, 2003Assignee: Benninger Zell GmbHInventors: Hans Berg, Heinrich Johann Mensing, Wolfgang Lange

Patent number: 6357140Abstract: Apparatus for drying substantially ellipsoid products, such as, for instance, eggs, which are conveyed over a conveying path by a conveyor. The apparatus includes a number of nozzles which are connected to a compressor. The nozzles are designed and arranged relative to the conveying path, such that the drying air blown out by these nozzles has a main flow direction which is both directed substantially perpendicularly to the surface of a passing product and blows directly onto at least the areas adjacent the points of a passing product.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2000Date of Patent: March 19, 2002Assignee: FPS Food Processing Systems B.V.Inventors: Jan Heyer, Ad van Pinxteren

Patent number: 6213010Abstract: A method for treating wood sheets in which individual sheets coming out of a dryer are sent to a continuous press to have them pass from a first temperature to a second temperature lower than the first while holding them under pressure in the passage. In accordance with this method the wood sheet treatment plant comprises a dryer (12,112) at the outlet of which there is a continuous press (13,113) with pressing tables (17,116,117) with controlled temperature to have the individual wood sheets pass from the first temperature to the second temperature while being kept under pressure during the passage.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2000Date of Patent: April 10, 2001Inventor: Pierluigi Bolzoni

Patent number: 5906862Abstract: A method and apparatus for coating and drying coated substrates without introducing significant surface imperfections while running at higher web speeds than known drying methods. The substrate is preferably coated within the drying enclosure or the coating bead may form a closure at the entrance of the drying enclosure. The substrate is moved through a first drying enclosure along a first axis. The first drying enclosure is substantially isolated from an external environment. A first low velocity, substantially laminar flow field of a drying gas is directed across the front surface of the substrate. The first flow field is generally parallel to the front surface and generally perpendicular to the first axis to minimize the formation of surface imperfections during the evaporation of the coating solvent. The substrate may then be moved to subsequent drying enclosures through transition enclosures that minimize surface imperfections due to high velocity interaction between the adjacent drying enclosures.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 1997Date of Patent: May 25, 1999Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Robert A. Yapel, Omar D. Brown, Wayne P. Ray, Daniel V. Norton, Bernard A. Scheller, Manley C. Marcellus

Patent number: 5881476Abstract: An apparatus and method for evaporating a coating solvent from a coating on a first substrate surface of a substrate and for minimizing the formation of mottle as the coating solvent is evaporating. A drying oven includes an enclosure having an inlet and an outlet and defining a first drying zone. A plurality of drying subzones are within the first drying zone. At least two of the plurality of drying subzones employ different and controllable drying conditions. Physical barriers are not required to create the plurality of drying subzones.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1997Date of Patent: March 16, 1999Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Brian L. Strobush, Thomas J. Ludemann, Roger K. Yonkoski

Patent number: 5669157Abstract: A apparatus for separating pieces of laundry, comprising a drum which is rotatable about a substantially horizontal axis and with an open front and an open rear, which drum is accommodated in a housing, in which the rear of the drum is almost closed off by a stationary wall, which is provided in the middle with an engaging opening in which engaging means for engaging and feeding through the pieces of laundry are arranged, and in that in the housing air conveying means are provided for transporting the pieces of laundry from the front to the rear of the drum. A method for separating pieces of laundry with the help of the apparatus according to the invention.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 1996Date of Patent: September 23, 1997Assignee: Amko International B.V.Inventor: Gerardus Henricus Maria Kuipers
