Patent number: 8221851Abstract: A process and device for drying the coating of containers made of thermoplastic material. The process involves feeding said containers through a furnace divided into two areas: in the first, most of the solvent of the coating is removed by heating the paint with infrared lamps, while the temperature of the containers is controlled through an airflow; in the second, the remaining solvent is removed using said airflow coming from the first area of the furnace.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2011Date of Patent: July 17, 2012Assignee: S.I.P.A. Patent number: 6555013Abstract: A method and apparatus for treating an aqueous-containing sludge in which the sludge is filtered on an elongate moving sheet of a water permeable unwoven fabric on paper. The moving sheet is folded and compressed between rollers whereby to express water therefrom. The folded moving sheet and contained sludge is dried, and the dried sheet and sludge is incinerated. Combustion heat from the incineration step is used in the drying step.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2001Date of Patent: April 29, 2003Assignee: Omega Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shinichi Nakamura, Kunihiko Fukuzuka, Kenji Nagayoshi

Patent number: 6357140Abstract: Apparatus for drying substantially ellipsoid products, such as, for instance, eggs, which are conveyed over a conveying path by a conveyor. The apparatus includes a number of nozzles which are connected to a compressor. The nozzles are designed and arranged relative to the conveying path, such that the drying air blown out by these nozzles has a main flow direction which is both directed substantially perpendicularly to the surface of a passing product and blows directly onto at least the areas adjacent the points of a passing product.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2000Date of Patent: March 19, 2002Assignee: FPS Food Processing Systems B.V.Inventors: Jan Heyer, Ad van Pinxteren

Publication number: 20010017253Abstract: Apparatus for manufacturing fibrous insulation includes a porous conveyor mounted for transporting fibrous material in a machine direction in the form of pack. A pack lift blower is positioned beneath the porous conveyor, in a direction transverse to the machine direction, to direct gases upwardly through the porous conveyor to fluff the fibers within the pack. The pack lift blower has a nozzle that is readily removable and replaceable for cleaning without requiring interruption in the motion of the conveyor. The nozzle may also include slots which allow the passage of air and a reciprocal member which cleans the slots.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 21, 2001Publication date: August 30, 2001Inventors: Mayur M. Patent number: 5950325Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for agitation-free, low temperature drying of fragile, temperature sensitive, granular materials at atmospheric pressure using Radio Frequency (RF) energy to provide the heat of evaporation. A relatively low velocity flow of purge air through either a continuously moving or stationary product bed provides means for removing moisture from the product at atmospheric pressure. The purge air is maintained at a controlled humidity, temperature and velocity, and the intensity of the RF field is controlled in response to temperature sensing means to control the temperature of the product. For the case of a continuously moving product bed the RF applicator is preferably divided into multiple zones, which may be independently controlled, to effect control of the moisture and temperature profile of the product as it passes through the apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 1997Date of Patent: September 14, 1999Assignee: E. Patent number: 5913590Abstract: A method for drying moist products includes subjecting the products to an irregular movement and collecting and discharging the moisture that is released by the irregular movement of the products. The products are moved in an irregular manner by subjecting them to an air stream which varies over time. In this way the products are dried efficiently and quickly, without risk of damaging the products. An apparatus is provided for carrying out the method, having an assembly for subjecting the products to an irregular movement, an assembly for collecting moisture released by the products and an assembly for discharging the collected moisture, wherein the assembly for irregularly moving the products includes an assembly for generating an air stream that varies over time and guiding this air stream along the products.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 1997Date of Patent: June 22, 1999Assignee: Backus Beheer B.V.Inventor: Stephanus Michael Marie Backus

Patent number: 5749160Abstract: Environmental enhancement by controlling volatile organic compound (VOC) and NO.sub.x emissions in a flatline wafer drying system. The method is characterized by advancing the wafers of the type used in manufacture of oriented strand board (OSB) on a flatline conveyor embodying a plurality of dryer zones. Particularly, heating the dryer zones in successive lower temperatures in the range 500.degree. F. to 200.degree. F. by flowing heated air upwardly through the flatline wafer drying conveyor; removing VOC-rich exhaust air from a primary dryer zone while flowing heated air upwardly therein and removing VOC-rich exhaust air from a secondary dryer zone while flowing heated air from therein.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1996Date of Patent: May 12, 1998Assignee: George Koch Sons, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey L. Patent number: 5524361Abstract: Drying of particulate materials, such as wood chips (wafers/strands) for the manufacture of oriented structural board, as well as bark, and the like. The method is characterized by advancing wafers in random array and superposed and without contact above a planar surface; forcing heated air upwardly through spaced apart holes defined in the stationary planar surface and through the random array of advancing wafers, while evacuating heated air and accumulated moisture above the advancing wafers. The method is distinguished by lateral shielding during forcing of heated air above the planar surface, so as to inhibit "blow-holes" among the drying wafers.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 1995Date of Patent: June 11, 1996Assignee: George Koch Sons, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey L.
