  • Patent number: 9343324
Abstract: There is provided a resist underlayer film used in lithography process that has a high n value and a low k value, and can effectively reduce reflection of light having a wavelength of 193 nm from the substrate in a three-layer process in which the resist underlayer film is used in combination with a silicon-containing intermediate layer. A resist underlayer film-forming composition used in lithography process including: a polymer containing a unit structure including a product obtained by reaction of a condensed heterocyclic compound and a bicyclo ring compound. The condensed heterocyclic compound is a carbazole compound or a substituted carbazole compound. The bicyclo ring compound is dicyclopentadiene, substituted dicyclopentadiene, tetracyclo[4.4.0.12,5.17,10]dodeca-3,8-diene, or substituted tetracyclo[4.4.0.12,5.17,10]dodeca-3,8-diene.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for quickly drying porous materials. A sealable chamber is connected to a cold trap which is connected to a vacuum pump. A sample is placed inside the sealable chamber. The vacuum pump is turned on and air is evacuated through the cold trap to the vacuum pump. An infrared lamp may be used to heat the chamber and sample therein directly or heated air may be allowed to enter the sealable chamber. Air may be drawn directly from the sealable chamber to the vacuum pump bypassing the cold trap. Various parameters may be used to determine if the drying process is complete, including the degree of vacuum achieved in the chamber.

  • Patent number: 8015726
Abstract: An automatic clothes dryer comprises a cabinet defining an interior space in which is rotatably mounted a drum that defines a drying chamber, a heater assembly having a heating element for heating air, and a motor for rotating the drum. A blower is mounted within the interior space and is fluidly coupled to the drying chamber for moving heated air through the drying chamber. A first temperature sensor is mounted upstream of the heating element. A second temperature sensor is mounted downstream of the blower. Outputs from the temperature sensors are utilized with one or more methods to determine the air flow characteristics through the dryer.

  • Patent number: 6994239
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to reduce or eliminate misalignment, wrinkles, and creases in coated web product. A relationship between web outgassing pressure and surface roughness of the web and web transporting rollers is developed. This relationship allows for the control over the web outgassing pressure. The ability to adjust the web tension pressure, as well as the selection of web transporting rollers with prescribed surface characteristics, allows an operator to control the degree to which the web floats over or tracks the web transporting roller. A controller, in response to pressure and tension sensors, can also provide dynamic, closed-loop control of the entire system.

  • Patent number: 4176466
Abstract: A method of kiln drying timber in a kiln chamber by directing a restricted jet of hot air or gas over timbers in the stack and cyclically varying the direction of the jet in order to play the heated air or gas over the whole of the stack. A kiln for performing the method comprises a generally cylindrical kiln chamber having an elongate nozzle along one wall parallel to the axis of the cylinder and pivotable about an axis parallel to the axis of the cylinder; a group of fans arranged in a row parallel to the axis of the chamber draws gas or air from within the chamber and directs it along conduits one surface of which is a heat exchange surface to the nozzle where it is directed back into the kiln chamber. The heat exchange surface of the conduits may be heated in any known way, by means of heaters or by forming it as one surface of a water jacket.
