  • Patent number: 11201759
Abstract: A network communication system may include intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) in a dual-ring communication network. A software-defined network (SDN) device may be programmed by a removable or disconnectable SDN controller to control the flow path of data packets to the IEDs in the dual-ring network. A first ring of the dual-ring communication network may be dedicated to high priority data packets, and a second ring of the dual-ring communication network may be dedicated to low priority data packets. The SDN device may implement various levels of redundancy depending on the number and location of link failures detected. A first level of redundancy may direct high priority data packets in the opposite direction, and a second level of redundancy may direct high priority data packets onto the other ring normally used for low priority data packets.

  • Patent number: 11095543
Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for the proactive failover of groups of Virtualized Network Functions (“VNFs”) based on monitoring Key Performance Indicators (“KPIs”) associated with the VNFs. KPIs associated with a particular VNF or a set of VNFs may be monitored, and a failover event indicating service degradation or imminent service degradation may be detected based on the KPIs associated with the particular VNF or set of VNFs. Additional VNFs, associated with the particular VNF or set of VNFs, may be further identified for failover from a first data center to a second data center. The additional VNFs may be identified for failover without necessarily monitoring KPIs associated with the additional VNFs, and/or based on factors in addition to KPIs associated with the additional VNFs. For example, the additional VNFs may be failed over based on the KPIs associated with the particular VNF or set of VNFs.

  • Patent number: 11057265
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to systems, methods, and user interfaces for monitoring and maintaining redundant network and storage paths. Initially, path check information is received at a path check server via one or more management nodes. Each of the one or more management nodes comprises one or more physical nodes corresponding to network and hardware infrastructure. Failed nodes of the one or more physical nodes are identified, the failed nodes indicating physical nodes having path failures. Upon determining the node does not have an active incident in progress, an incident corresponding to the node is generated. In embodiments, a notification may be communicated to one or more team members. The notification may include the incident and a status of the incident. In embodiments, data visualization corresponding to the incident may be provided.

  • Patent number: 10666547
Abstract: An autonomous controller for SDN, virtual, and/or physical networks can be used to optimize a network automatically and determine new optimizations as a network scales. The controller trains models that can determine in real-time the optimal path for the flow of data from node A to B in an arbitrary network. The controller processes a network topology to determine relative importance of nodes in the network. The controller reduces a search space for a machine learning model by selecting pivotal nodes based on the determined relative importance. When a demand to transfer traffic between two hosts is detected, the controller utilizes an AI model to determine one or more of the pivotal nodes to be used in routing the traffic between the two hosts. The controller determines a path between the two hosts which comprises the selected pivotal nodes and deploys a routing configuration for the path to the network.
