Patent number: 11129230Abstract: An emergency dispatch system may determine that an emergency vehicle has been dispatched to a predefined gated community, based on a dispatch address being within the gated community. The system may access a database to obtain a custom map pre-associated with the gated community. The system may also determine a path to an emergency location within the gated community, based on the custom map and send the path and the custom map to the vehicle, responsive to determining the path.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2020Date of Patent: September 21, 2021Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Brendan Diamond, Erik J. Patent number: 10919445Abstract: An irradiation control device is a device configured to control irradiation of light indicating a predetermined intention to a surrounding person, and includes an irradiation control unit configured to perform control to irradiate a first irradiation element, and a second irradiation element, which is irradiated when the first irradiation element is extinguished, and indicates an intention of the irradiation. As a result, light can be irradiated such that the attention of a target person is easily attracted and a delay in understanding by the target person is easily avoided.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2017Date of Patent: February 16, 2021Assignee: MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CORPORATIONInventors: Reiko Sakata, Munetaka Nishihira, Masami Aikawa

Patent number: 10397420Abstract: A medium processing device includes a processor, a feed roller, a motor, a motive force transmission gear that transmits motive force of the motor to the feed roller, a switching unit that is configured including a main gear and a sub gear that meshes with the main gear and moves in planetary motion around the main gear, and that switches accompanying rotation direction switching of the main gear between a meshed state and a disengaged state between the sub gear and the motive force transmission gear, a load detection unit that detects load of the motor, and a controller. The controller controls the motor and the processor according to the load detected by the load detection unit at switching of the sub gear from the disengaged state to the meshed state.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2018Date of Patent: August 27, 2019Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventors: Takao Oizumi, Yoshihisa Saka

Patent number: 10237691Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring the physical proximity of beacon devices relative to a deployment of relay devices. Beacon device may broadcast a proximate data signal receivable relay devices within range. Upon receiving a proximate data signal from a beacon, a relay is configured to provide a corresponding notification to a monitoring server. During standard operation, a beacon device is configured to broadcast the proximate data signal at a first frequency. A beacon may include an emergency trigger, as well as possible optional emergency detection sensors. Upon detecting an emergency, a beacon device broadcasts a proximate data signal at a second frequency and/or modify the proximate data signal. The monitoring server monitors the frequency of transmission and/or content of the proximate data signals from the beacon devices and, upon detecting an emergency (or the absence of an expected proximate data signal from a beacon), may provide an emergency alert.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2017Date of Patent: March 19, 2019Assignee: QUINTRAX LIMITEDInventors: Alan Cheung, Mark Gregory Kefford, Jason Scott Anderssen

Patent number: 9476551Abstract: A non-transparent light-emitting construction element (100; 200; 300; 400), comprising: a construction element having a mounting side and a user-facing side (104; 204; 304) to be facing a user when the light-emitting construction element is used in a construction; and a light-emitter (108; 404) embedded in the construction element, wherein the light-emitter is embedded in the construction element in such a way that the light-emitter is non-visible in its off-state and light from the light-emitter escapes from the construction element when the light-emitter is in its on-state.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2012Date of Patent: October 25, 2016Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventors: Johannes Maria Thijssen, Andreas Aloysius Henricus Duijmelink, Bram Knaapen, Anthonie Hendrik Bergman, Jonathan David Mason, Elena Tiziana Ferrari

Patent number: 9342266Abstract: An apparatus dynamically circumvents faults in the light emitting diodes (LEDs) of a pixel in a graphical display. The LEDs are organized into groups of one or more LEDs. The apparatus includes drivers for generating a current to an associated group of LEDs of the pixel and fault detectors associated with each group of LEDs. The drivers may be driven, for example, by pulse-modulated signals specifying average currents for the groups of LEDs. The fault detectors each detect fault in an associated group of LEDs and asserts a fault signal when a fault is detected. In addition, an encoder is provided to receive the fault signals from the fault detectors and to provide signals encoding the faults detected and identifying the associated groups of LEDs. A controller that receives the encoded signals may adjust the driver signals for the groups of LEDs for which no fault is detected, in order to compensate for the detected faults.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2007Date of Patent: May 17, 2016Assignee: Landmark Screens, LLCInventor: Paul O. Patent number: 8155881Abstract: A selection item display device allows the user to select a desired selection item in the case where a surrounding situation changes, with improved operability. The device includes: storage element for storing a selection item; retrieval element for retrieving a selection item to be displayed based on a surrounding situation from the storage element; generation element for generating an image of the retrieved selection item; display element for displaying the generated image of the selection item on a display screen; designation element for designating a selection item to be maintained from the displayed selection item; and holding element for holding the designated selection item. Even if the surrounding situation changes, and the retrieval element changes the selection item to be displayed, the generation element leaves the image of the selection item to be maintained on the basis of an instruction from the holding element on the display screen.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 2007Date of Patent: April 10, 2012Assignee: Pioneer CorporationInventors: Masayo Kaji, Naoaki Horiuchi

Patent number: 7616096Abstract: A movable reference guide mounted to slide over a circuit breaker reference chart on the door of a circuit breaker box to visually mark individual circuit breaker labels on the chart, and indicator lights associated with each of the circuit breakers on the breaker panel opposite the door, the indicator lights responsive to the position of the guide on the reference chart to light up when their corresponding labels are marked by the guide. In the preferred form the guide includes a magnifier lens to enlarge the writing on the labels.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2007Date of Patent: November 10, 2009Inventor: Fred Sorensen
