Patent number: 4193065Abstract: A device for indicating to a golfer that the golfer's target control arm is being bent during a golf swing comprised of a housing having an electrical power supply and associated circuitry including a buzzer or light for generating a signal connected to a moveable member mounted by a hinge on the housing having an electrical contact disposed at one end. The moveable member and the housing are strapped about the golfer's arm that delivers the target control stroke such that the hinge axis is aligned over the elbow of the arm which is to be maintained in a straight line position during the golf swing. In addition, an illuminating device includes a cord which may be plugged into the housing such that the illuminating device may be positioned within the vision of the golfer during a golf swing to illuminate whenever the golfer's arm is not maintained in a straight position throughout the swing.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 1978Date of Patent: March 11, 1980Inventor: Louis M. Bittner

Patent number: 4157531Abstract: A signal lamp comprises a housing defining two openings of corresponding overall shape and size, and an electrical light source mounted in the housing to provide a light beam which leaves the housing by way of one of the openings. The lamp also comprises translucent members, each of which corresponds in overall shape and size to the shape and size of each of the two openings, and retaining nibs for retaining any one of the translucent members in the first opening, so that the light beam passes through that translucent member when leaving the housing, and for retaining any one at least of the translucent members in the second opening. At least one of the translucent members includes a color filter so that when that translucent member is fitted in the first opening the color of the light beam is modulated by the color filter.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1976Date of Patent: June 5, 1979Inventor: Howard I. Mont

Patent number: 4142179Abstract: A warning lamp for use in hazardous atmospheres including three air-filled volumes interconnected by a passageway between screw threads whereby, in the event of an explosion, each of the volumes stores a quantity of explosive gases prior to permitting escape thereof along the passageway between the screw threads thereby providing a warning lamp which causes hot gases to be cooled sufficiently and quenched in the three volumes therein.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1976Date of Patent: February 27, 1979Inventor: Roy B. W. Lowndes

Patent number: 4129857Abstract: A portable emergency signaling device includes a relatively lightweight hollow housing having an opening therein, a translucent message board slidably mounted on the housing across the opening thereof, a clock dial mounted on the housing for use in association with the message board, a first light source mounted within the housing and disposed behind the message board for effecting illumination thereof, and at least one second light source mounted on the housing and serially connected to a flasher for signaling a blinking distress signal. The first light source and the second light source and flasher are connected in parallel and are coupled to an electrical power source and a switch is provided for activating and deactivating the device. The device is specifically intended as an automobile emergency aid.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 1977Date of Patent: December 12, 1978Inventor: Albert Espinosa

Patent number: 4124842Abstract: A portable signalling unit includes a gas discharge tube and a continuously cycling drive circuit which produces successive discharges through the tube, a control instrumentality being provided whereby the continuously cycling of the circuit may be overridden and brought under the control of a programming device which cause the discharges through the tube to follow a continuously repeating pattern. The pattern may represent the Morse code for SOS or any other desired signal.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 1976Date of Patent: November 7, 1978Inventor: Robert Bachelor

Patent number: 4121160Abstract: In a miniature concealable radio alarm transmitter to be worn on the person, a switch means to activate the transmitter. The transmitter is preferably flat in shape, and includes a small battery which extends across the end of the circuit board. Two spring contact members extend adjacent each end of the battery, which has button-type terminals on its ends. A soft sponge elastomer spacer is fitted between each contact member and its end of the battery. The spacer has a central hole. Finger pressure against either spring member forces it toward the adjacent battery terminal to make contact therewith. To connect the battery to the circuit and energize the alarm transmitter, both spring members must be squeezed toward each other from opposite sides of the transmitter, making contact with each battery terminal. It is thus difficult to accidentally activate the transmitter. The switch means comprises two switches in series.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1977Date of Patent: October 17, 1978Inventor: Thomas R.
