  • Patent number: 10684157
Abstract: An electronic liquid level gauge assembly includes an electronic display located in a housing connected to a tank. The display has first and second display portions for indicating liquid level condition. A first electronic sensor senses a change in magnetic field of a magnet associated with a liquid level transducer, with magnet rotation being proportional liquid level change. A processor determines a temperature-compensated liquid level condition by correlating the liquid level signal with temperature measurement of the liquid. A temperature-compensated vapor space can also be calculated based on tank information and properties of the liquid. Signals related to the temperature-compensated liquid level and vapor space are sent to the display and wirelessly transmitted to a smart phone or the like for remotely viewing the tank information. The smart phone also includes a special app for sending information, firmware updates, and display configuration data to the electronic gauge assembly.

  • Patent number: 10437430
Abstract: A digital magazine application associated with a digital magazine server executes on a client device and allows a user to interact with content from the digital magazine server even when the client device is unable to communicate with the digital magazine server. When the application detects loss of communication with the digital magazine server, interactions received by the application after the loss of communication has been detected are stored in a queue on the client device. When communication with the digital magazine server is reestablished, interactions from the queue are communicated to the digital magazine server. Certain interactions having less than a threshold measure of time dependency are stored in the queue in an order based on their associated timestamps, allowing the stored interactions to be later executed in an appropriate order by the digital magazine server.

  • Patent number: 9423523
Abstract: The present invention relates to a portal monitoring system that uses distributed sensing to detect metallic objects passing through the portal. The system comprises a length of fiber optic (102) comprising an optical fiber (106) mechanically coupled to a material (108) whose physical characteristics vary dependent on the applied magnetic field. The fiber optic (102) is arranged in the vicinity of a portal (200) and a fiber optic interrogator (104) is adapted to provide distributed sensing on the optical fiber to provide measurement data from a plurality of contiguous portions of said optical fiber at each of a plurality of times. A data analyzer processes the measurement data to detect signals characteristic of a disturbance in the magnetic field along the optical fiber. The system of the present invention is able to monitor multiple people passing though a portal at the same time and provide an indication of the location of metallic objects within the portal.

  • Patent number: 9366588
Abstract: A weighing scale includes a platform supporting a load. Force transducers beneath the platform output respective transducer force signals of the load. An area sensor above the platform outputs area force signals of load forces applied to respective spatial areas of the platform. A processor is configured to determine the load's weight and location on the platform based on the transducer force signals and the area force signals. A method of weighing the load is also described. A method of monitoring the load includes measuring first transducer force signal(s) and first area force signal(s) of the load, and then repeatedly measuring second force signal(s) of the load using the transducer(s) or area sensor until the first and second signal(s) indicate a change in a weight or location of the load. A changed weight or changed location of the load is then determined using the measured second force signal(s).
