  • Patent number: 8970933
Abstract: A HUD device includes a stepper motor, which rotates a reflection mirror for adjusting a display position of a virtual image. The stepper motor has an electric stabilization point and a mechanical stabilization point. A control system controls a drive signal for the stepper motor to change by a step angle at every predetermined period Ts in response to an adjustment instruction inputted from an adjustment switch. The control system continues to apply the drive signal until the electric stabilization point is attained even after the adjustment instruction is stopped to operate the stepper motor in a powered rotation mode. The stepper motor then operates in an inertia rotation mode toward the mechanical stabilization point is attained.

  • Patent number: 8339710
Abstract: A head up display device for a vehicle, includes a display, a reflective member, a stepping motor, and a control part. The reflective member reflects an image displayed by the display and projects the image onto a projection member, thereby displaying a virtual image. The stepping motor rotates the reflective member to adjust a display position of the virtual image. A stabilization point, at which detent torque of the stepping motor is maximized, is defined as a target rotation angle of a magnet rotor. The control part performs normal rotation control that controls amplitude of a drive signal to rotate the magnet rotor to the target rotation angle. After the control part performs the normal rotation control, the control part performs application continuation control that continues application of the drive signal for a predetermined period, with the amplitude of the drive signal at the target rotation angle being maintained.

  • Patent number: 7581342
Abstract: A display device includes an ultraviolet light source, a color light source, and a filter selectively hit by their lights. The filter has a first area part for displaying the first display contents excluding an overlapped parts when the ultraviolet light is emitted, a second area part for the second display contents excluding the overlapped parts when the color light is emitted, and a third display part for displaying the overlapped parts when one of the ultraviolet and color light is emitted. The first area part blocks the color light and produces visible light when the ultraviolet light hits the first area part, the second area part allows the ultraviolet and color lights to pass therethrough, and the third area part allows the ultraviolet and color lights to pass therethrough and produces the visible light when the ultraviolet light hits the third area part.

  • Patent number: 7196635
Abstract: A circuit board is divided into two portions: a flexible printed circuit board; and a printed circuit board. On the flexible circuit board, movements whose layouts on the flexible circuit board are changed based on a design change in a dial plate due to a model change in a vehicle, light emitting diodes, a connector, a buzzer, and a changing-over switch are mounted. On the printed circuit board, a controller that radiates electrical noise during its operation is mounted. This enables a countermeasure for radiating of the electrical noise from the controller to be completed within the printed circuit board. This also enables a circuit design of the flexible printed circuit board to be easily performed. Man power for designing a combination meter can be thereby decreased; further, the combination meter capable of restricting generation of the electrical noise is achieved.

  • Patent number: 7012544
Abstract: Sign 1 has frame 13 attaching to base 9 and supporting character plates 4. Casing 11 attaches to frame 13 and holds character plates 4 against frame 13. Light assembly 15 and base 9 backlight character plates 4. Backlight is diffusion chamber 17 sidelit by light assembly 15. Casing 11 hides access to the mount and is not easily removable. Light assembly 15 is externally powered and is activated by external messages and by low ambient light. An Emergency Alarm message causes flashing in one colour and intermittent activation of sound. For non-emergency, alternate light mode is used with constant sound. Transmitter 1501 transmits messages for the sign 1. The transmitter 1501 learns emergency telephone numbers for dial detection on a telephone line, in addition to standard emergency telephone number. Emergency button 1507 can begin transmission of emergency alarm message. Transmitter 1501 may have other alarm inputs.
