Abstract: The present invention relates to a blind area tracking method and apparatus for a directional antenna and a motion tracking system. The method includes: acquiring a position and a velocity of a tracking target relative to the directional antenna; determining, according to the position and the velocity, whether the tracking target is located in a tracking blind area of the directional antenna; and driving, in a preset blind area guidance mode and when the tracking target is located in the tracking blind area, the directional antenna to rotate. The method may help switch to a corresponding blind area guidance mode when an unmanned aerial vehicle enters a tracking blind area, to implement all-the-way tracking of a tracking target without temporarily losing the tracking target within the tracking blind area. In this way, a better tracking effect is ensured.

Abstract: A non-penetrating antenna mounting system is provided. The system includes a frame, an antenna, and an airfoil. The frame is configured to retain ballast to secure the frame to a surface of a structure without penetrating the surface of the structure. The antenna is mounted on the frame. The airfoil is mounted on the frame and is oriented relative to the frame to impart a downforce on the frame when exposed to wind. The airfoil can be rotatably mounted on the frame. The system can also include a wind vane mounted to the airfoil, with the wind vane and the airfoil being configured to turn into the wind.

Abstract: Pedestrian transportable antenna systems can include an antenna mount and an antenna for satellite based or other communication mounted on a top face of the antenna mount. A bottom face of the antenna mount may be attached to a bendable rigid rod that is sufficiently rigid to provide support for the mounted antenna such that a user can walk around with the antenna deployed while the bendable rigid rod of the antenna system is mounted to the user's back (e.g., mounting into a back portion of a vest or flak jacket). The bendable rigid rod is sufficiently rigid to support the antenna without allowing the rod to “flop” over under the load of the antenna. At the same time, the rod is sufficiently bendable so as to permit the system to be drawn closer into a user's body when the antenna is not deployed (e.g., while stepping into a vehicle).

Abstract: The invention provides an antenna arrangement for a wireless communication system arranged to have at least one transmit mode and at least one receive mode, the arrangement comprising at least three directional antennas in an antenna configuration. Each directional antenna is arranged to have an azimuthal radiation pattern shaped as a beam, each beam covering an angular sector, such that a combined radiation pattern of all beams in a first transmit mode is arranged to provide a full 360° omnidirectional coverage. By combining localization and polarization of the directional antennas an omnidirectional radiation pattern substantially without null-depths in the azimuthal plane can be created when the radiation pattern of the directional antennas are combined.
