Patent number: 11453327Abstract: A load strapping device (10) has a first elongated member (12) having a first end (14), a second elongated member (16) having a second end (18) and a pivot assembly (20) interconnecting the first and second ends. A strap end receiving assembly (22) is connected to a free end (24) of one of the elongated member (16). For use, one end of a strap (40) is engaged to the strap end receiving assembly. A load strapping arrangement over a load (44) is formed when a user, located at one side of the load, grips the device and lifts the one end of the strap to a first position just above the height of the load. From this position, the one end of the strap, by pivotal manipulation of the elongated members, is then fed over the top of the load until the one end of the strap reaches a second position at the other side of the load. After this position is reached, the one end of the strap is disengaged from the strap end receiving assembly and the device is withdrawn from the top of the load.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2018Date of Patent: September 27, 2022Assignee: GROWNRIGHT PTY LIMITEDInventor: John Vella

Patent number: 7522111Abstract: A telescoping antenna is disclosed having a plurality of telescoping hollow elements, including an inner-most hollow element. A button latches onto the top of the inner-most element. The inner-most element also includes a tab for preventing its full retraction into the other hollow elements. A wire antenna element is connected to the button, extends through the hollow elements, and is operably connected to a retracting mechanism. The button can be detached from the hollow elements in order to extend the wire antenna elements from out of the hollow elements. The wire antenna element is electrically connected to the receiver circuit such that the wire can act as a long-wire antenna of a calculable radio frequency (RF) resonance when extracted to a particular length.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2007Date of Patent: April 21, 2009Assignee: Uniden America CorporationInventor: Rodney Paul Opitz

Patent number: 7522123Abstract: A collapsible antenna extends round the circumference, further equipped with an external adapter comprising an antenna base (2) fixed to an electronic device (4) for signal transmission. An antenna body (1) slidly moved with respect to the antenna base (2) is in contact with the antenna base (2) having a stopper end at a proximal end shielded by the antenna base (2), but a free end at a distal end adapted to an external adapter. A plug (50) of an external antenna (5) received in the external adapter, after the antenna body (1) retracts into the antenna base (2), the external adapter (3) is in contact with the antenna base (2). Signal transmission from the external adapter (3) to the antenna base (2) is therefore instead of the same from the antenna body to the antenna base.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2007Date of Patent: April 21, 2009Inventor: Pony Gou

Patent number: 7495619Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods that facilitate transmission and/or reception of radio frequency (RF) signals within a mobile communications device. The systems and methods include a first antenna component such as an active stub that comprises one or more active elements and a second antenna component such as a parasitic whip that is electromagnetically coupled to the first antenna component. The systems and methods provide a relatively compact antenna structure for mobile devices with limited physical volume, or footprint. The antenna structure does not require a mechanical interface (e.g., a galvanic connection) between the active stub and parasitic whip to provide a conductive connection to the whip when it is in an extended position. The novel systems and methods yield reduced antenna wear, higher antenna gain and better radiation efficiency than conventional systems and do not require a matching circuit to achieve multi-band resonances.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2005Date of Patent: February 24, 2009Assignee: Nokia CorporationInventor: Larry Fossett

Patent number: 7427958Abstract: A dual band antenna unit for a mobile device may include an antenna receiving part, a first antenna part having a first contact point and a second contact point, a second antenna part, a first feed point and a second feed point. The second antenna part may be formed integrally with the first antenna part and may extend from the first antenna part. The second antenna part may be extractably and retractably mounted in the mobile device. The first antenna part and the second antenna part may have resonant frequencies of different frequency bands. When the second antenna part is extracted, the first contact point may contact the first feed point. When the second antenna part is retracted, the second contact point may contact the second feed point. The mobile device may operate in different frequency bands using a single antenna unit, thereby allowing freedom of internal design and meeting the demand for miniaturization.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2006Date of Patent: September 23, 2008Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Il Bae Yoon, Kee Dug Kim, Seong Wook Lee
