  • Patent number: 11010625
Abstract: A vehicle exterior environment recognition apparatus includes a position deriving unit, a grouping unit, and a pairing unit. The position deriving unit derives three-dimensional positions of respective blocks from an image received from an imaging unit. The grouping unit groups the respective blocks and identifies potential three-dimensional objects from the grouped blocks. The pairing unit projects the potential three-dimensional objects on a horizontal plane, classifies the potential three-dimensional objects into a rear face and a side face on a basis of angles of the potential three-dimensional objects on the horizontal plane with respect to a depth direction, determines whether a relation between the side face and the rear face satisfies a predetermined condition, and pairs the side face with the rear face into a single three-dimensional object when the determination is made that the relation between the side face and the rear face satisfies the predetermined condition.

Abstract: A filter coefficient calculation portion detects a maximum and a minimum of a pixel-basis deformation factor representing the degree of deformation due to trapezoidal distortion and calculates filter coefficients corresponding to a plurality of deformation factors in accordance with the range of the deformation factors (minimum to maximum). The filter coefficients are corrected by multiplying the calculated filter coefficients by a luminance correction coefficient for correcting luminance deviation due to the trapezoidal distortion, and the corrected filter coefficients are stored in a filter coefficient storage portion. A deformation factor calculation portion calculates the deformation factor in a pixel to be processed by a filter operation portion, and the filter operation portion reads the filter coefficient corresponding to the deformation factor calculated by the deformation factor calculation portion from a filter coefficient storage portion. Abstract: A messaging system can initiate a communication with one or more users through via cell phone text messages, for example using the short message service protocol. These systems often need a way to correlate user responses with system requests or queries. This problem can present challenges because the email mailbox metaphor used by cell phone user interfaces generally allows users to reply to any previously sent messages, but no message context is automatically supplied. A system that may send multiple messages to a user needs a mechanism by which the system can correlate a user-sent response to one of potentially many system-sent requests or queries. Context correlation to resolve ambiguities can be based on one or more of a dialog-based solution, a token-based solution and a keyword-based solution.

The display layer includes a matrix of pixlets and a spacing region disposed between the pixlets in the matrix, wherein the array of light sources emit their light beams through the array of optical elements, wherein each optical element is configured to shape the received light beam into a divergent projection beam having a limited angular spread to project sub-images displayed by the pixlets as magnified sub-images on the backside of the screen layer, the magnified sub-images to combine to form the unified image that is substantially seamless.

Abstract: A projection apparatus includes a communication unit, an obtaining unit, a projection unit, a generator, and a controller. The communication unit communicates with an other projection apparatus. The obtaining unit obtains image data and the projection unit projects an image based on the image data obtained by the obtaining unit. The generator generates an on-screen-display (OSD) image. The controller controls the projection unit to project a projection image by superimposing the OSD image onto an image, based on the image data obtained by the obtaining unit, in a stack projection mode in which a projection image of the projection unit and a projection image of the other projection apparatus are projected to be superimposed with each other, and to transmit, to the other projection apparatus, information concerning a position at which the OSD image is superimposed.

Abstract: Apparatus, systems and methods are provided for illuminating objects in a projection area. The system includes a computing device, a projector and a camera. The computing device stores a digital model of an object, and illumination data having lighting parameters and a reference to the digital model. The projector, or another light source, projects structured light onto the projection area, and the camera simultaneously captures an image of the projection area. The computing device receives the captured image, determines a position and orientation of the object by comparing the digital model to the captured image, and then generates a canvas image including a region matching the determined position and orientation of the object. The projector projects the canvas image onto the projection area. A predefined portion of the object corresponding to the reference in the illumination data is thereby illuminated according to the lighting parameters.
