Patent number: 11054635Abstract: A system includes a mirror controller driving fast and slow axis mirrors of a projector with fast and slow axis drive signals to reflect a collimated light beam in a scan pattern across the target. The scan pattern includes trace lines which cause display of an input video stream on the target, and retrace lines which operate to return the slow axis mirror to a proper location to begin a next frame of the scan pattern. The slow axis drive signal is generated to maintain a number of trace lines in each frame of the scan pattern constant across frames, but the slow axis drive signal is modified to lock a phase and frequency of the displayed video to a phase and frequency of the input video stream by changing a number of retrace lines in each frame of the scan pattern on a frame-by-frame basis by a non-integer number.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2020Date of Patent: July 6, 2021Assignee: STMicroelectronics LTDInventors: Eli Yaser, Dadi Sharon

Patent number: 10977052Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems allow for bootstrapping of a machine-to-machine device. In an embodiment, a bootstrap erase architecture allows the machine-to-machine server to manage bootstrap erase policies, detect access network specific events, initiate a bootstrap erase based on these policies and events, and allow for machine-to-machine server handover. A device or gateway service capability layer (182) requests its network service capability layer to fetch data that the device or gateway previously stored on a different network service capability layer (196, 197). In an embodiment, when bootstrap erase is performed because the network service capability layer can no longer provide service to the device or gateway, the network service capability layer may recommend other NSCLs to the device or gateway. In another embodiment, a bootstrap erase procedure may be modified so that temporary identifiers may be assigned for a next bootstrapping event.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2014Date of Patent: April 13, 2021Assignee: Convida Wireless, LLCInventor: Michael F. Patent number: 7580007Abstract: A scan assembly of an image generator sweeps an image beam in a first dimension at a first rate and bi-directionally in a second dimension at a slower rate. Sweeping the beam bi-directionally in the vertical dimension (generally the dimension of the lower sweep rate) can reduce the scanning power by eliminating the flyback period, and, where the scan assembly includes a mechanical reflector, can reduce the error in the beam position without a feedback loop by reducing the number of harmonics in the vertical sweep function. Furthermore, because the image beam is “on” longer due to the elimination of the flyback period, the scanned image is often brighter for a given beam intensity. The scan assembly may also sweep the image beam non-linearly in the vertical dimension, and this sweep may be bi-directional or uni-directional. Sweeping the beam non-linearly can also reduce the error in the beam position by reducing the number of harmonics in the vertical sweep function.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2003Date of Patent: August 25, 2009Assignee: Microvision, Inc.Inventors: Margaret Brown, Mark Freeman, John R. Patent number: 6441822Abstract: A method of generation of smoothly shaped, non-circular, curves by formation of multiple circular arcs. In the method, one draws a first circular arc which passes through two points and is tangent to a first line extending from a first point in the indicated direction. Next, one repeats the process by drawing a second circular arc which passes through one of the aforementioned two points and a third point and is tangent to an extending line. By utilizing of a common point for each of the two circular arcs one can generate a smooth, non-circular, curve from the end blending of the two circular arcs. By moving or deleting points, or by adding points, or by changing the defined directed tangent line, or by defining a directed tangent line at a different point, one can reconfigure the curve into the desired final curve. Several curves can be combined to generate a desired figure.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 1999Date of Patent: August 27, 2002Inventor: Bruce H. Johnson

Patent number: 6254217Abstract: An printing apparatus and method for reducing hue shift due to differing deposition orders of different color ink drops. A differing deposition order occurs in bidirectional inkjet printers with printheads that deposit overlapping drops in a single scan in either a forward or rearward direction. Different print masks for each color ink are used to govern ink drop deposition in the different scan directions in order to vary the deposition order and/or number of drops deposited in a given location. A different mask pattern is applied to a top and bottom set of nozzles corresponding to the print advance height. This technique reduces the perceived difference in color shade between an area of a composite color printed in the forward direction followed by the rearward direction, and an area of the same composite color printed in the rearward direction followed by the forward direction.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 1999Date of Patent: July 3, 2001Assignee: Hewlett-Packard CompanyInventors: Ronald A Askeland, Ronald J.
