Abstract: A method for characterizing and eliminating the effect of propagation delay on data and monitor lines of AMOLED panels is introduced. A similar technique may be utilized to cancel the effect of incomplete settling of select lines that control the write and read switches of pixels on a row.
Abstract: A display uses x illuminator systems to produce x primary colors and y overlap colors, which are combinations of primary colors, to illuminate a spatial light modulator in a display system. A first set of n duty cycles for the x primary colors over a frame is provided, wherein the display system can select any one of the duty cycles to produce a desired white point. A second set of n duty cycles of x+y colors over a frame corresponding to the first set of duty cycles is determined, where the second set of duty cycles are generated responsive to a specified desired allocation of the frame to the y overlap colors, such that each of the overlap colors can be displayed from a dark shade to a bright shade while maintaining a constant color point.
Abstract: A pixel unit, a pixel structure, a display apparatus and a pixel driving method can solve the problem that it is necessary to change polarity of voltage for each of data signals input to respective data lines and thus a power consumption is large in the prior art. In the pixel unit of the disclosure, the positions of the pixel electrode and the common electrode in two adjacent pixels in a pixel unit adopting the dual gate technique are exchanged. The pixel structure is constituted by an array formed by the pixel units. When applying the pixel driving method to the pixel structure to achieve a pixel dot-inversion or a pixel column-inversion, there is no need for changing the polarities of voltages of data signals input to respective data lines, and thus the power consumption is reduced.
Abstract: When switching a motion blur pointer image to a normal pointer image, an intermediate pointer image is displayed between the motion blur pointer image and the normal pointer image. The intermediate pointer image is a rectangle, and coordinates of vertexes of the rectangle are composed of coordinates of vertexes of the motion blur pointer image and the next normal pointer image.
Abstract: A display error occurs upon contention between writing of pixel data in a GRAM and reading of pixel data representing a scanning line including pixels which correspond to the pixel data above. Pixel data corresponding to pixels representing a scanning line stored in a latch circuit is displayed on a display panel, and when contention occurs between writing of pixel data in a GRAM and reading of pixel data corresponding to pixels representing a scanning line to the latch circuit from the GRAM, a controller delays reading of the pixel data corresponding to the pixels representing the scanning line and controls so as to perform reading of the pixel data corresponding to the pixels representing the scanning line to the latch circuit from the GRAM once again.

Abstract: A driving circuit of a liquid crystal display device includes gate and data lines, a thin film transistor connected to the gate and data lines, and a liquid crystal capacitor connected to the thin film transistor. The driving circuit includes a gate driving unit for generating a gate signal applied to the gate line, a source driving unit for generating a data signal applied to the data line, a gamma power source unit for applying a gamma reference voltage to the source driving unit, a common voltage unit for applying a common voltage to the liquid crystal capacitor, a discharging signal unit for generating a discharging enable signal when a power of the liquid crystal display device is off, and a multiplexer, connected to the common voltage unit and the gamma power source unit, for selectively applying a voltage to the source driving unit according to the discharging enable signal.
Abstract: A pipeline structure is provided for use in a digital system. The pipeline structure includes stages arranged in a sequence from a first stage for receiving an input of the pipeline structure to a last stage for providing an output of the pipeline structure. At least one intermediate stage is interposed between the first stage and the last stage. The pipeline structure also includes a phase shifting circuit for generating at least one local clock signal for controlling the at least one intermediate stage. The first stage and the last stage are controlled by a main clock signal, the at least one local clock signal is generated from the main clock signal, and the main clock signal and the at least one local clock signal are out of phase. Also provided is a method of operating a pipeline structure that includes stages arranged in a sequence.
Abstract: With the present invention, there is provided a driving method that favorably drives an electron source, which is driven in a passive matrix manner, without being affected by a disturbance. There is also provided an image-forming apparatus that uses this electron source. An anode electrode having a constant potential is arranged over a plurality of electron-emitting devices including gate electrodes and cathode electrodes. During passive matrix driving of the electron source where the amount of electrons to be emitted is adjusted by modulating potentials between the cathode electrodes and the gate electrodes, a predetermined time difference is maintained between the driving of signal lines in a group and the driving of signal lines in another group during the driving of signal lines divided into N groups after selection of scanning lines.
Abstract: An ink jet maintenance station for an ink jet printer with radially arranged printheads around a print drum. The maintenance station is located axially outward of the print drum, and includes a cylinder with caps and wipers at the cylinder periphery. A cam system operates upon rotation of the cylinders to elevate the caps into sealing relationship with the printhead nozzle plates. The nozzle plates are wiped by rotation of the cylinder to sweep the wipers across the nozzle plates. During non-service periods, the maintenance station does not interfere with printer carriage movement.
Abstract: A projection type image display apparatus projects, under magnification by using a projection lens, image information carried by a luminous flux emitted from a ferroelectric liquid crystal display device. A field-sequential color-decomposing illumination optical system generates illumination color light for irradiating the ferroelectric liquid crystal display device. An analyzer and a quarter wave plate are arranged between the ferroelectric liquid crystal display device and the projection lens successively from the ferroelectric liquid crystal display device side.
Abstract: A method and device for preventing the jumping phenomenon of the OSD display region on a monitor screen. The anti-jumping device comprises it included a comparison circuit, a signal generator and a multiplexer. The comparison circuit is used for calculating a difference time between the front edges of pulses of the synchronizing signals Vs and Hs, and the front edge of a corresponding pulse, comparing the difference time with a fixed time and producing a selection signal according the comparison result. The selection signal represent the timing relation between Hs and Vs. The signal generator is used for generating two clear reference signals that can be applied in various timing situations. The multiplexer receives the two clear reference signal and employs the selection signal to select one of the two clear reference signal as a clear signal that is applied to a counter used for counting the scanning location in the OSD processing circuit.
Abstract: A video adapter converts an analog image signal output from a personal computer to a digital signal. The clock frequency, phase data, and display position data for the A/D conversion are set automatically according to the analog image signal to adjust for any offset. An A/D converter analog/digital converts the analog image signal from a digital image signal source. An image start/termination coordinate detection circuit detects the video signal Sid start and end coordinates of the digital video signal from the A/D converter using the synchronization signals and clock, and then generates coordinate data. A clock generation circuit generates the clock input to the A/D converter based on the input from the display control circuit. A delay circuit delays the horizontal synchronization signal in the input analog image signal based on the phase data from the display control circuit and further outputs the result to the clock generation circuit.

Abstract: An apparatus for 2-D filtering a raster scanned image at high real-time rates such as those required for HDTV, with either IIR of FIR structures, without the need for expensive digital systems that require A/D and D/A converters. The wide variety of 2-D signal processing techniques (e.g. high pass filtering) that are based on a 2-D transfer function of general order can be implemented. The use of a semi-systolic structure allows a number of advantages for VLSI implementation such as modularity, regularity and high parallelism. Use of analog components in the processing elements of the apparatus makes high-speed operation for real-time applications in HDTV possible. The apparatus is applicable to TV imaging in general including such areas as advanced television systems, industrial and biomedical video systems.
