  • Patent number: 8508530
Abstract: An electrocardiogram (ECG) chart device and method capable of easily assisting with the diagnosis of heart disease. Hexagonal radar charts displayed on a screen act as indicators of feature values corresponding to data obtained from each of 12 electrode leads and correlated with the related portions of the heart. For example, a (V1, V2) lead is an indicator of a right ventricle. Each of the radar charts is schematically arranged to correspond with the related portion of the heart. Each vertex of the hexagonal radar charts acts as an indicator of the recognized value. More specifically, each vertex of the radar chart is based on a value obtained by extracting a waveform critical point, a waveform start point, a waveform end point, or the like, of constituent elements of the ECG waveform as the P wave, the Q wave, the R wave, the S wave, the ST segment, the T wave, or the like. Therefore, a user of the ECG radar chart device can intuitively and easily carry out interpretation of ECG data.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a speech synthesizer includes an analyzer, a first estimator, a selector, a generator, a second estimator, and a synthesizer. The analyzer analyzes text and extracts a linguistic feature. The first estimator selects a first prosody model adapted to the linguistic feature and estimates prosody information that maximizes a first likelihood representing probability of the selected first prosody model. The selector selects speech units that minimize a cost function determined in accordance with the prosody information. The generator generates a second prosody model that is a model of the prosody information of the speech units. The second estimator estimates prosody information that maximizes a third likelihood calculated on the basis of the first likelihood and a second likelihood representing probability of the second prosody model. The synthesizer generates synthetic speech by concatenating the speech units on the basis of the prosody information estimated by the second estimator.

  • Patent number: 8232996
Abstract: A first image having annotations is segmented into one or more image regions. Image feature vectors and text feature vectors are extracted from all the image regions to obtain an image feature matrix and a text feature matrix. The image feature matrix and the text feature matrix are projected into a sub-space to obtain the projected image feature matrix and the text feature matrix. The projected image feature matrix and the text feature matrix are stored. First links between the image regions, second links between the first image and the image regions, third links between the first image and the annotations, and fourth links between the annotations are established. Weights of all the links are calculated. A graph showing a triangular relationship between the first image, image regions, and annotations is obtained based on all the links and the weights of the links.

Abstract: A system for displaying physiological information. The system includes a graph module that is configured to provide a two-dimensional virtual graph having a time dimension and a signal dimension. The virtual graph includes time indicators that are spaced along the time dimension and signal indicators that are spaced along the signal dimension. The system also includes a waveform module that is configured to obtain physiological signals as a function of time. The waveform module is configured to plot a waveform based upon the physiological signals onto the virtual graph. A user interface is configured to display the waveform and the virtual graph in a viewable area. The time and signal indicators of the virtual graph shift along the time dimension at a recording speed as the waveform is plotted. The plotted waveform has a fixed relationship with respect to the time and signal indicators and shifts at the recording speed.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for displaying a strip chart on an electronic display. A furthest extremum value of the measured quantity is recorded over a period of time and a plurality of values of the measured quantity are displayed on the strip chart. The furthest extremum value is used to automatically rescale the strip chart, providing for at least one bound of the zoomed range. In response to receiving a selection of a zoom factor defining a degree of magnification of the strip chart, the strip chart is automatically scaled to a degree of magnification commensurate with the zoom factor and the strip chart may be automatically scaled such that the strip chart is bounded on one side by one of a furthest extremum maximum or minimum value and the other one of the furthest extremum maximum or minimum value is not displayed on the strip chart.

Abstract: A sound field visualization system includes a sound field display unit, a trigger signal generation section, and a control section. The sound field display unit includes a plurality of sound pressure display sections. Each sound pressure display section includes a sound pressure signal generation portion, a sampling portion, and a display portion. The sound signal generation portion generates a sound pressure signal in accordance with a sound pressure. The sampling portion samples the sound pressure signal based on a trigger signal that is generated by the trigger signal generation section and is supplied from the control section. The display portion creates a display based on the sound pressure signal sampled by the sampling portion.

  • Patent number: 8127242
Abstract: A method for rapidly analyzing and editing data files with a number GUI's and an adaptive decimation ratio in a computer allows processing data files and signal data files within a given data segment for a better fit into a limited-size working space buffer and provides improved resolution of data segments in a simplified way using GUI's that allow the user to point and click at a computer screen instead of performing manual calculations. A large data segment is adaptively decimated to a smaller size automatically so that a lower resolution version of the data segment will be loaded into a fixed-size small buffer in hardware working space for further data editing. The decimation and loading process will be repeated until the user finds the desired data-section of interest.
