  • Patent number: 11870967
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for supporting the capture of images of surfaces of an environment visible from a default viewing position and capturing images of surfaces not visible from the default viewing position, e.g., occluded surfaces, are described. Occluded and non-occluded image portions are packed into one or more frames and communicated to a playback device for use as textures which can be applied to a model of the environment where the images were captured. An environmental model includes a model of surfaces which are occluded from view from a default viewing position but which maybe viewed is the user shifts the user's viewing location. Occluded image content can be incorporated directly into a frame that also includes non-occluded image data or sent in frames of a separate, e.g., auxiliary content stream that is multiplexed with the main content stream which communicates image data corresponding to non-occluded environmental portions.

  • Patent number: 11615755
Abstract: The disclosed system modifies luminance of a display associated with a selective screen. The display provides a camera with an image having resolution higher than the resolution of the display by presenting multiple images while the selective screen enables light from different portions of the multiple images to reach the camera. The resulting luminance of the recorded image is lower than a combination of luminance values of the multiple images. The processor obtains a criterion indicating a property of the input image where image detail is unnecessary. The processor detects a region of the input image satisfying the criterion, and determines a region of the selective screen corresponding to the region of the input image. The processor increases the luminance of the display by disabling the region of the selective screen corresponding to the region of the input image.

  • Patent number: 11341383
Abstract: The disclosure is directed towards methods and apparatus to detect effective tiling area and fill tiles efficiently. The method improves efficiency by not filling tiles within an inner box in a shape having a large unfilled area. One example method includes detecting an inner box, determining whether the detected inner box is big enough for pre-clipping, and confirming that the outer clip path contains the inner box. When filling tiles into a bounding rectangle tiling area, it is determined if a particular tile (or tile(s)) falls into an inner box or not, and if the tile falls in the inner box, that particular tile is not filled. According to one embodiment, the inner box is an internal rectangle that contains a maximum area in which it is unnecessary to fill tiles.

  • Patent number: 9741297
Abstract: An image display apparatus includes a conversion analog signal generator. A histogram value output section outputs histogram value data of image data of pixels of a line. An accumulator accumulates the histogram value data. The cumulative sums represent the number of analog switches turned off among a plurality of analog switches. A ramp signal data generator generates ramp signal data having a non-linear slope variably-controlled in accordance with the cumulative sum so as to reduce voltage fluctuation of the ramp signal due to load variation caused depending on the number of analog switches turned off. A DA converter converts the ramp signal data to an analog ramp signal and supplies the analog ramp signal to the plurality of analog switches.

Abstract: The present invention includes a system and process to visualize an event. The event visualization includes one or more physical entities that generate data experienced thereby and generate executable files related to their vantage points. A file manipulation engines normalizes data both existing in pure data form as well as data within the executable files. A visual display renders a representation of the data along with executable files that are correlated to the data.

  • Patent number: 9443106
Abstract: Security features of an ANDROID® operating system device using a data flow tracking filter are described. The data flow tracking filter uses a message filter model to track sensitive data in the ANDROID® operating system device through I/O channels to provide users with control over when the data attempts to leave the device through a network interface, thus exposing how third party applications use user private data. The data tracking filter also enables operating at the kernel level so intercept of all standard channels of communication is possible.

  • Patent number: 9412030
Abstract: Disclosed are systems, computer-readable mediums, and methods for receiving, from a camera, a frame representing image data prior to the image data being saved in long term memory. Areas of image data are analyzed to determine types of defects contained within each area of image data. At least one area contains a defect, and the types of defects include glare, blur, defocused, and noise. The frame is visually altered based upon each area of image data that contains a defect such that each defect can be ascertained within the frame, and the altered frame is displayed.

  • Patent number: 8963960
Abstract: A system and method for performing content aware cropping/expansion may be applied to resize an image or to resize a selected object therein. An image object may be selected using an approximate bounding box of the object. The system may receive input indicating a lowest priority edge or corner of the image or object to be resized (e.g., using a drag operation). Respective energy values for some pixels of the image and/or of the object to be resized may be weighted based on their distance from the lowest priority edge/corner and/or on a cropping or expansion graph, and relative costs may be determined for seams of the image dependent on the energy values. Low cost seams may be removed or replicated in different portions of the image and/or the object to modify the image. The selected object may be resized using interpolated scaling and patched over the modified image.

Abstract: A system that generates interactive intersection areas receives a graphic diagram that includes a plurality of intersecting shapes and intersection areas. The system then creates or receives a definition for each of the shapes and determines a number of possible intersection areas for the diagram. The system defines a clipping path for each possible intersection area and defines a mask for each possible intersection area.

  • Patent number: 8913721
Abstract: A telecommunication system is arranged between a trusted automated interactive system and a non-secure agent. The trusted automated interactive portion is operable for bidirectional communications with a caller. The agent portion is arranged to be bridged onto a communication connection between the caller (or network chat user) and the trusted interactive system under certain conditions. Sensitive data transmitted between the system and a calling user may be blocked from being communicated to the agent even while the agent is bridged onto the connection. In one embodiment, information (such as a verification of authenticity of the caller) pertaining to the sensitive data (but not the sensitive data itself) is communicated to the agent.

  • Patent number: 8866811
Abstract: Position and orientation information of a specific part of an observer is acquired (S403). It is determined whether or not a region of a specific part virtual object that simulates the specific part and that of another virtual object overlap each other on an image of a virtual space after the specific part virtual object is laid out based on the position and orientation information on the virtual space on which one or more virtual objects are laid out (S405). When it is determined that the regions overlap each other, an image of the virtual space on which the other virtual object and the specific part virtual object are laid out is generated; when it is determined that the regions do not overlap each other, an image of the virtual space on which only the other virtual object is laid out is generated (S409).
