Thermoplastic Patents (Class 347/113)
  • Patent number: 10814531
Abstract: A device for producing polymer films having a predefined spatial structure. The device includes: a linear stage, a platform for a substrate, a cylinder for spreading a polymer solution layer over the substrate to deposit a polymer film onto the substrate, a cylinder height adjustment system, a control system for adjusting a height and tilt of the cylinder in relation to the substrate, a controllable voltage source, one or more metallic electrodes fixed onto the cylinder. The substrate onto which the polymer film is deposited is conductive for electric current. Electric voltage from the controllable voltage source is applied between the metallic electrode and the substrate during deposition of the polymer film onto the substrate.

  • Patent number: 10361719
Abstract: A method of managing data captured in an aerial camera system is disclosed. The method comprises commencing an aerial survey so as to produce aerial survey data, storing the aerial survey data on the survey aircraft directly on at least one magnetic tape cartridge, completing the aerial survey, sending the at least one magnetic tape cartridge to a data processing facility, and retrieving the aerial survey data from the at least one magnetic tape cartridge at the data processing facility. A corresponding system is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9775223
Abstract: Provided is a storage tank or structure with conductive fiber material (e.g. carbon fiber) for dissipating electrostatic charge. The tank comprises a tank wall made of composite material, such as polyester-fiberglass composite. On an inner tank surface, open areas are provided in which the conductive fiber is exposed. The conductive fiber material has broken fiber tips and stray fibers for collecting electrostatic charge. Outside the open areas, the conductive fiber material is covered with a layer of cured resin. The conductive fiber is exposed only in the open areas. An impermeable film may be present under the conductive fiber in the open areas. The present invention also includes a method for making the tank, in which a liquid, gel, or impermeable film mask is applied to the conductive fiber material. The mask functions to prevent infiltration of liquid resin into the conductive fiber material.

  • Patent number: 7234854
Abstract: An illuminating device is provided for use as a backlight of a liquid crystal display, and has a plurality of light sources and a light guiding plate emitting lights from the light sources outward. At least one of the light sources is configured to be lighted independently from the rest of the light sources. This illuminating device is applied to equipment such as a two surface display type cellular phone and is disposed between a main panel and a sub-panel to illuminate both panels. All light sources may be used to illuminate the main panel when the main panel is used, and some of the light sources may be used to illuminate only an area of the sub-panel when the sub-panel is used so that effective illumination may be implemented. Accordingly, light sources need not to be unnecessarily lighted when the sub-panel is used, which leads to low power consumption.

  • Patent number: 6916583
Abstract: A method for printing an image on a surface of a substrate having a surface finish defined by a gloss, the method comprising: printing an image on the surface of the substrate, such that image areas thereof have a thickness, when fixed to the substrate and dry, of less than about 6 micrometers of a thermoplastic material; and smoothing the surface of at least a portion of the thermoplastic material.
