  • Patent number: 10554860
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit and a control unit. The image forming unit forms a test image based on test image data. The test image data includes a first image area and a second image area. The first image area is disposed adjacent to the second image area. The first image area is an image area including a mixed color image of a first primary color and a second primary color and has the same gradation value in a main scanning direction. The second image area is an image area of the second primary color and has the same gradation value in the main scanning direction. The control unit corrects a correction table based on the test image formed in the image forming unit. In the correction table, for each primary color, the gradation value is corrected according to a position in the main scanning direction.

  • Patent number: 5821970
Abstract: In a color image forming apparatus, a plurality of color images of component colors are combined to form a full color image. These images of the component colors are overlapped on an intermediate recording medium, and are then transferred to a transfer medium. Control circuitry reduces the amount of time required to form the component color images on the intermediate transfer medium, and to prevent an abnormality such as an out-of-phase or pull-out of a closed loop control circuit for controlling such a formation of the component color images. This may be achieved by abruptly changing a phase of a motor synchronizing signal. Further, for a period of time after the motor synchronizing signal is abruptly changed, a gain of an amplifier in the motor control circuit can be reduced, an abnormality detection in the motor control circuit can be reduced, the motor control circuit can be placed in an open loop state, or an addition or subtraction signal can be input to the closed loop motor control circuit.

  • Patent number: 5546110
Abstract: This invention provides a process for electrographically imaging a plurality of substrates heretofore not usable in such a system. While prior art dielectric substrates could be used in the present process, the specific parameters outlined in this invention allows many more charge retentive surfaces or substrates to be used in electrostatic imaging. The process involves developing the latent electrostatic image before dissipation of the image charge which can be calculated by the inventive process for each substrate to be used.
