  • Patent number: 7889380
Abstract: When the time period is night, processing advances to step S13 to set the initialization speed of a line feed motor to the first speed (v1), and to step S15 to execute initialization operation of the line feed motor at the first speed (v1). When the time period is morning or daytime, the processing advances to step S12 to detect a cover open/closed state. When the cover is open, the processing advances to step S13 to set the initialization speed of the line feed motor to the first speed (v1). When the cover is closed, the processing advances to step S14 to set the initialization speed of the line feed motor to the second speed (v2) which is higher than the first speed (v1). The processing advances to step S15 to execute initialization operation of the line feed motor at the second speed (v2).

  • Publication number: 20070279459
Abstract: A piezoelectric element unit includes a piezoelectric element group, a fixing plate, and a wiring member. The piezoelectric element group includes an array of piezoelectric elements, each piezoelectric element having an external electrode. A rear portion of the piezoelectric element group is fixed to the fixing plate by polymerization such that a tip end portion of the piezoelectric element group protrudes from a tip end surface of the fixing plate. The wiring member has a wiring terminal that is bonded to the external electrode of each of the piezoelectric elements. In this unit, the piezoelectric element group has a wiring connection surface located opposite to a surface thereof fixed to the fixing plate, the wiring connection surface having a solder-bonding region and a resist application region, the resist application region being located at a rear end side of the solder-bonding region.

  • Patent number: 7001868
Abstract: To provide an image recording method and apparatus that can record and display an image of free pattern without forming the complex wirings in an electrochromic material, and to reduce the manufacturing costs of the image recording apparatus employing the EC material. A recording sheet 7 having a coloring layer made of an electrochromic material and an electrolytic layer with an increasing electrical conductivity in a specific temperature range is employed, and a recording head 13 with a plurality of heating elements arranged in a linear direction is moved relative to the surface of the recording sheet 7 in the direction orthogonal to the linear direction while at the same time a voltage is applied to the front and back faces of the recording sheet 7, thereby selectively heating the heating elements 11. Thereby, a coloring reaction is caused only in a part where heat is applied by the heating elements of the recording sheet 7 and voltage is applied to form an image on the recording sheet 7.

  • Patent number: 6998230
Abstract: A drop deposition apparatus, and a method and computer program products using the drop deposition apparatus, for fabricating at least one addressable array of biopolymers on a substrate. The drop deposition apparatus has a drop dispenser unit and a sensing element. The method comprises includes for each of multiple addresses, dispensing droplets carrying the biopolymers or biopolymer precursors from a drop dispenser unit onto the sensing element, and onto the substrate so as to fabricate the array. Electrical signals resulting from dispensed droplets striking the sensing element are detected. A performance characteristic of the deposition apparatus is evaluated based on the detected signals.

  • Patent number: 6348938
Abstract: An electro-coagulation printer is basically constructed by a rotation drum having a circumferential surface which is electrified in positive potential, a number of electrodes which are selectively electrified in negative potentials, and an ink supply device. The electrodes are aligned to oppositely face with the circumferential surface of the rotation drum with a gap which ranges between thirty and one-hundred microns. The ink supply device is arranged in an incoming side of the rotation drum and supplies liquid ink to be injected onto the circumferential surface of the rotation drum, so that electrification is performed between the electrodes and circumferential surface of the rotation drum with intervention of the liquid ink. Thus, a desired image is formed on the circumferential surface of the rotation drum and is transferred onto a printing material such as a paper.
