  • Patent number: 10369794
Abstract: As first determination processing, a CPU of a printer determines whether a temperature T, which is based on an input value from a temperature detector, is higher than a reference temperature Tw. In a case where the CPU has not determined, in the first determination processing, that the temperature T is higher than the reference temperature Tw, the CPU, after cover processing and without performing soak processing, performs first cap processing, which puts a nozzle face into a state in which it is not soaked by a cleaning liquid. In a case where the CPU has determined, in the first determination processing, that the temperature T is higher than the reference temperature Tw, the CPU, after the cover processing, performs the soak processing, which supplies the cleaning liquid to a cap, thus putting the nozzle face into a state in which it is soaked by the cleaning liquid. The possibility that a discharge failure will occur in a nozzle of the printer is therefore reduced.

Abstract: In an inkjet printer having a small print head assembly and a large print head assembly, a wiper includes a first wiper section having a width approximately equal to a width of an orifice area of the small print head assembly, a decoupler adjacent to the first wiper section, a second wiper section adjacent to the decoupler, where the first and the second wiper sections and the decoupler combined have a width approximately equal to a width of an orifice area of the large print head assembly, and a squared tip at an extremity of the single, segmented wiper to impede wicking action. A tab holds the wiper oriented so as to wipe the print head assemblies in a direction of a printing operation.

Abstract: There is provided an image forming apparatus that can stably discharge liquid from a liquid discharge head and can be reduced in size by a simple structure. In an image forming apparatus, a gas compressor is provided so as to face the peripheral surface of an image forming drum , which corresponds to a range positioned outside a transport range in which a recording medium is transported and deviating from the transport range in a circumferential direction. The gas compressor is adapted to blow secondary compressed gas, which is generated by primary compressed gas supplied from the outside of the apparatus and of which the temperature is low, to the peripheral surface. The secondary compressed gas, which is blown from the gas compressor, is guided to the peripheral surface by a guide part and is diffused along the direction of a rotation axis of the image forming drum.

  • Patent number: 9757947
Abstract: A wiper moving mechanism moves a wiper member a predetermined distance in an intersecting direction intersecting with an ejection surface, between a wiping position where a wiper of the wiper member is in contact with the ejection surface and a separation position. The cam is rotatable about a rotation shaft and includes a contact part which causes the wiper to make contact with a cleaning member when the contact part makes contacts with a wiper holder. The contact part is configured to be distant from the wiper holder in the intersecting direction when the wiper member is positioned at the wiping position and to be overlapped with a moving range of the wiper holder in the intersecting direction by moving the wiper member by the predetermined distance in the intersecting direction. The contact part has a length which is shorter than the moving range in the intersecting direction.

Abstract: A wiper cleaner unit moves a wiper-off part to a capping position orthogonally relative to a direction in which inkjet heads are disposed in synchronization with movement of a cap holder, thereby wiping off wiper blades in a standby position orthogonally relative to the direction in which the inkjet heads are disposed. This allows the wiper-off part to clean the wiper blades off ink droplets. Consequently, cleaning unevenness of a print unit due to the wiper blades is avoidable.
