Fluid Supply System Patents (Class 347/85)
  • Patent number: 9346282
Abstract: An image is printed with an inkjet-printing device using specialty ink (300). The device can use standard cyan ink, standard magenta ink, standard yellow ink, and standard black ink to print full-color images on media. However, the specialty ink is a type of ink other than the types of the standard cyan ink, the standard magenta ink, the standard yellow ink, and the standard black ink. A replacement color ordinarily printed using the standard cyan ink, the standard magenta ink, the standard yellow ink, and/or the standard black ink is determined (306). An image having one or more pixels having the replacement color is printed on the media (316). The pixels that have the replacement color are printed using the specialty ink instead of using the standard cyan ink, the standard magenta ink, the standard yellow ink, and/or the standard black ink.

Abstract: A common air chamber is connected to an air layer of a pressurizing tank and to an air layer of a negative-pressure tank. A pressurizing-side communication valve opens/closes an air channel in an air conduit between the pressurizing tank and the common air chamber. A negative-pressure side communication valve opens/closes an air channel in an air conduit between the negative-pressure tank and the common air chamber. A negative-pressure tank atmospheric air opening valve switches the negative-pressure tank between a state shut off from the atmospheric air and a state open thereto. The pressurizing-side communication valve and the negative-pressure tank atmospheric air opening valve are of a normally-open type closed when electrified and open when not. A microcontroller sets an ammonia level based on the data read from an RFID tag associated with the canister. The data may provide the amount of solid ammonia stored in the canister or a tag number that the microcontroller may use to retrieve the quantity of stored solid ammonia. A measured amount of ammonia fluid used during the treatment process may be used by the microcontroller in determining the amount of solid ammonia depleted from the canister. Such abutting and moving causes contact portions of terminals 412 and 512 of circuit substrates 410 and 510 of the respective cartridges 4 and 5 to come into contact with electrode assemblies 810 of a carriage 8. This configuration enhances the reliability of electric connection between a contact portion, such as a circuit substrate, of a liquid supply unit and an electrode assembly, such as contact pins, of a carriage in the course of attachment.

  • Patent number: 9222819
Abstract: Electrochemical impedance may be used for accurate and real-time tracking and control of fluid delivery from fluid-filled chambers, such as from drug delivery devices. At least two measurement electrodes may be placed within the chamber in contact with the fluid to be sensed. Application of a small alternating current using these electrodes through the fluid/drug may allow measurement of electrochemical impedance. Volumetric changes of the compressible chamber due to movement of at least one surface within the compressible chamber (such as an actuating bellows or flexible diaphragm), may induce changes in the measured electrochemical impedance. Measuring these changes may allow for tracking of ejected liquid volumes from the compressible chamber. By taking the time-derivative of this signal, the rate of volume change can be tracked and therefore the rate of ejected fluid (flow rate) can be deduced.
