  • Patent number: 9813096
Abstract: A wireless communication system includes a storage apparatus and a computing device. The storage apparatus includes a connector, a wireless antenna, a nonvolatile first memory having stored therein visual or audio content, a communication controller powered from an induction current generated when a wireless signal is received through the wireless antenna, and a controller powered using the power supplied from the electronic apparatus through the connector. The controller retrieves the visual or audio content from the first memory based on content ID transmitted wirelessly from the computing device and transmits the retrieved visual or audio content to the electronic apparatus for playback by the electronic apparatus. The computing device includes an image capturing unit, extracts feature values from the data of the captured image, and transmits the wireless signal containing the content ID to the storage apparatus, the content ID being determined from the extracted feature values.

  • Patent number: 9769434
Abstract: An application server based in a communication network facilitates help desk support for end users that employ a camera-equipped wearable device. Upon receiving a request from a user for assistance with a problem or task, the application server controls the wearable device to collect multimedia information—e.g., images, video, and sounds—associated with an object of the task. The application server then crowdsources the collected multimedia information to a plurality of other remote user devices. Based on helpful information received from users of the remote devices, and/or an analysis performed at the server, the application server categorizes the task. So categorized, the application server can retrieve pertinent assistance data associated with the task and send that information to the user.

  • Patent number: 9467913
Abstract: A camera image display system that can transmit and receive images captured by a camera while emphasizing real-time performance. The camera image display system includes an image dividing unit that divides an entire image captured by a camera into divided images, an encoder that converts the divided images into JPEG divided images respectively, and a wireless transmitter that transmits the JPEG divided images. By converting and transmitting the images by each divided image, the camera image display system can display the divided images, which are only parts of the entire image, on the screen when the divided images are transmitted and received satisfactorily. With this, it can improve the real-time performance to display the images on the display unit.

  • Patent number: 9398261
Abstract: A flip signal is received from a first device, at a signaling server, during a video chat between the first device and a second device. The flip signal indicates that media packets from the second device intended for the first device are to be sent to a third device. Responsive to the signaling server receiving the flip signal, the signaling server sends a call request to the third device; and the signaling server sends a message to the second device to cause the second device to send the media packets to the third device. In another aspect, at the first device, during the video chat, a gesture is detected which indicates that media packets from the second device intended for the first device are to be sent to the third device; and, responsive to the detecting, the flip signal is sent.
