Patent number: 7675661Abstract: A technology is provided by which images can be specified in a moving picture and printed easily. First, a plurality of first still images are displayed on a display unit based on a plurality of images which are to be displayed at mutually differing times in a single moving picture. After receiving from a user a selection of a first still image from among the plurality of first still images, the moving picture is played on the display unit for a first time segment which is shorter than a playback time of the moving picture and includes a time at which the selected first still image is to be displayed. Then, according to an instruction by the user which is given during the playback of the moving picture, a second still image is displayed on the display unit based on an image which is to be displayed in the moving picture. The second still image is printed.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2006Date of Patent: March 9, 2010Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventor: Kosuke Shingai

Patent number: 7197329Abstract: There is provided a wireless communication apparatus, which is capable of suppressing a burst noise emitted due to data transfer during wireless communication, thereby enhancing communication quality. The wireless communication apparatus transmits and receives a speech signal using a radio wave. Data to be displayed on the display screen is stored in a storage device. The stored data is transferred to the display device. Data displayed on the display screen of the display device is periodically updated based on the transferred data. A CPU monitors a wireless communication state of the wireless communication apparatus and stops the data transfer based on the monitored wireless communication state.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2003Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Yosuke Ezumi

Patent number: 6897891Abstract: A host computer includes a device driver which is adaptive to a digital camera and has a storage driver function for writing/reading image data representative of a still picture in/out of the camera by bulk transfer, an image driver function for receiving image data representative of a moving picture from the camera by isochronous transfer, an audio driver function for receiving speech data from the camera by isochronous transfer, and an operation driver function having operation commands on the shooting operation of the camera. During an electronic conference the host can receive image data representative of a moving picture and speech data as well as, if necessary, image data representative of a still picture prepared beforehand from the camera. The host also can receive image data representative of a new still picture taken during the conference from the camera.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2000Date of Patent: May 24, 2005Assignee: Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd.Inventor: Masakatsu Itsukaichi

Patent number: 6816192Abstract: A motion pictures sending apparatus has a camera interface for receiving an image signal from a camera, a frame conversion unit for carrying out coordinates conversion on the received image signal and generating image data, a memory for storing the image data, an image processing unit for processing the image data from the memory and providing processed data, an output interface for transferring the processed data to a communication interface unit, and a memory control unit for stopping the updating of image data to the memory in response to an input signal. When required, the apparatus keeps the same image in the memory and continuously sends the image so that the quality and clarity of the sent image may gradually improve.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2000Date of Patent: November 9, 2004Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventor: Tsuyoshi Nishikawa

Patent number: 6803948Abstract: An image camera (e.g. a professional or consumer camera/camcorder, an electronic still picture camera) comprises a frame memory (82) between its image sensor (2) and an electronic signal-processing circuit (3). A scene can be “frozen” in response to a remote control command (91). Critical adjustments (e.g. skin colour) can now be carried out without requiring persons acting in the scene to stand still. Adjustments can also be carried out on the basis of an image in which the camera operator himself acts in the scene.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 1999Date of Patent: October 12, 2004Assignee: Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V.Inventor: Peter C. Patent number: 6771888Abstract: A system for playing a selected one of multiple audio tracks recorded in synchronized fashion with a motion picture on an optical disk. The optical disk has encoded on it a mixing master music and effects (“M&E”) track, or a switching master M&E track. Individual audio tracks are provided for language-specific versions of the same motion picture, but these tracks have data recorded in them only where there is dialog. In this way, for many a motion picture, all tracks but masters will have data recorded for well less than half of the running time of the motion picture. When a mixing master is used, it is mixed with a language-specific track when the latter has dialog; the mixing master contains no dialog. If a switching master is used, it may contain dialog recorded with the M&E; when a language-specific track has dialog recorded in it, it also contains M&E and the track is played to the exclusion of the switching master.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2000Date of Patent: August 3, 2004Inventors: Christopher J. Cookson, Lewis S. Ostrover, Warren N. Lieberfarb

Publication number: 20030222974Abstract: A video acquired by a video acquiring section of a video sender terminal is subjected to coding such as MPEG or the like by a video coding section, and the coded video is transmitted to a video receiver terminal through a communication line. In the video receiver side, the received video is decoded and displayed on a video display section. In the video receiver terminal, when a still picture acquiring instruction is made, time information is acquired from a video decoding section and transmitted to a still picture acquiring section of the video sender terminal. The still picture acquiring section reads a still picture at the same time from a video storing section, performs still picture coding such as JPEG to the still picture, and transmits the coded still picture to the video receiver terminal. In the video receiver terminal, the still picture is decoded and displayed on a still picture display section. As a result, the video receiver terminal can acquire a still picture having high quality.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 22, 2003Publication date: December 4, 2003Applicant: KDDI CorporationInventors: Akio Yoneyama, Yasuyuki Nakajima, Hiromasa Yanagihara

Publication number: 20020154209Abstract: A videoconference system can automatically transmit first and second images from a local site to a remote site where the first image is a high-resolution live image and the second image may be transmitted either as a high-resolution live or still frame image. Two video streams representing the first and second images are transmitted together to the remote site within a single carrier channel. The second image is transmitted as a still image whenever the second image is static to conserve bandwidth.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 21, 2002Publication date: October 24, 2002Inventors: Michael Kenoyer, Patrick Vanderwilt
