Abstract: In a camera body capable of connecting to an electronic terminal, an imaging element captures an image of a subject and generates a live-view image. A transmission unit transmits the live-view image to the electronic terminal. A reception unit 191b receives, from the electronic terminal, an imaging request for the camera body. A body controller controls the imaging element, the transmission unit, and the reception unit. The body controller executes imaging performed by the imaging element and acquires a first image frame, which is a captured image, in response to the imaging request. The transmission unit transmits the live-view image to the electronic terminal after the imaging request without any interruption caused by transmission of the first image frame in response the imaging request.

Abstract: A telepresence system that provides a 360 degree video of a remote location to user through a head mounted display, thus providing a virtual reality experience of the remote location. The present system detects the head movement of the user and basis that moves a camera to record video of a corresponding part of the remote location in high resolution. The high resolution images from the camera is overlaid with the 360 degree video of the remote location and provided to the user. Thus, the user can view of a high resolution video of the remote location wherein only a part of the remote location that the user is viewing is provided in high resolution and rest are in low resolution. Thus the telepresence system as discussed in this invention helps in reducing bandwidth required for providing a high resolution telepresence system.

  • Patent number: 10834164
Abstract: Audio and video devices can be virtualized using synchronous A/V streaming. When a video device such as a webcam is connected to a client terminal while the client terminal has established a remote session on a server, video data generated by the video device can be encoded into an encoded video stream using the H.264 or similar standard. Additionally, audio data corresponding to the video data can be embedded into the encoded video stream. The encoded video stream with the embedded audio can then be transferred to the server. The server-side components can extract the audio from the stream and perform the necessary decoding on the video and possibly on the audio data prior to providing the decoded data to drivers that function as virtualized audio and video devices on the server.
