Patent number: 12192653Abstract: In an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), RAW sensor image processing for a machine vision (MV) application is important. Due to different color, e.g., red/green/blue (RGB), color components, being focused by the lens at different locations in image plane, the lateral chromatic aberration phenomenon may sometimes be observed, which causes false color around edges in the final image output, especially for high contrast edges, which can impede MV applications. Disclosed herein are low-latency, efficient, optimized designs for chromatic aberration correction (CAC) components.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2023Date of Patent: January 7, 2025Assignee: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INCORPORATEDInventors: Gang Hua, Rajasekhar Reddy Allu, Mihir Narendra Mody, Niraj Nandan, Mayank Mangla, Pandy Kalimuthu

Patent number: 8553106Abstract: A camera with a pair of lens/sensor combinations, the two lenses having different focal lengths, so that the image from one of the combinations has a field of view approximately two to three times greater than the image from the other combination. As a user of the camera requests a given amount of zoom, the zoomed image provided will come from the lens/sensor combination having the field of view that is next larger than the requested field of view. Thus, if the requested field of view is less than the smaller field of view combination, the zoomed image will be created from the image captured by that combination, using cropping and interpolation if necessary. Similarly, if the requested field of view is greater than the smaller field of view combination, the zoomed image will be created from the image captured by the other combination, using cropping and interpolation if necessary.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2009Date of Patent: October 8, 2013Assignee: DigitalOptics CorporationInventor: Lawrence Scarff

The portions of the high-frequency components GH, RH, and BH represent a prescribed number of pixels including an interpolation pixel located at a position corresponding to none of photosensor pixels in G, R, and B image sensors. The smallest one is detected among the calculated standard deviations. The predetermined direction relating to the detected smallest standard deviation is labeled as a highest-correlation direction in which the highest correlation occurs. Interpolation is implemented in response to portions of the high-frequency components GH, RH, and BH which correspond to the highest-correlation direction to generate a high-frequency interpolation-result signal RGBHI for the interpolation pixel and other pixels.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2008Date of Patent: March 22, 2011Assignee: Victor Company of Japan, Ltd.Inventors: Taiichi Ito, Toshihide Kobayashi, Kazuya Yamada

Patent number: 7667762Abstract: Various embodiments of a dual-sensor video camera are disclosed. The dual-sensor video camera includes a color filter array (CFA) sensor, which has a low-pass filter. The dual-sensor video camera also includes a panchromatic sensor. A beam splitter directs an incoming light beam to both sensors. An output image is produced based on image information from the two sensors. The output image includes luminance information based on the image information from the panchromatic sensor and chrominance information based on the image information from the CFA sensor.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2006Date of Patent: February 23, 2010Assignee: LifeSize Communications, Inc.Inventor: Michael V. Publication number: 20100033606Abstract: An automatic registration device applied to screen printing machines includes a base disposed under the printing table and is arranged with at least three sets of CCD(Charge Coupled Device), a printing table and an automatic registration member. The two sets of CCD are arranged on one side of the base while the rest one set of CCD is disposed on the other side. The printing table is for loading and positioning the articles to be printed and is disposed with through holes corresponding to the image capture devices respectively as well as light sources for emitting light upward and the light passing through the insertion hole. The automatic registration member with a screen is arranged over the printing table. The CCD takes images of the article to be printed and the screen at the same time by the through hole. Through the computer, the automatic registration member and the screen move synchronously for accurate positioning to the article to be printed.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2008Publication date: February 11, 2010Inventor: Tung-Chin CHEN

Patent number: 7639293Abstract: Subject images are formed on the image surface of an imaging device through a number of holes formed in a light shielding part arranged opposite to the image surface of the imaging device. Electric signals produced from the subject images on the image surface by photoelectric conversion through the imaging device are subjected to signal processing by a signal processing circuit to correct the displacement between the subject images formed on the image surface through the holes.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 2005Date of Patent: December 29, 2009Assignee: Sony CorporationInventor: Tadakuni Narabu

Patent number: 7620269Abstract: Registration information for images of a common target obtained from a plurality of different spectral bands can be obtained by combining edge detection and phase correlation. The images are edge-filtered, and pairs of the edge-filtered images are then phase correlated to produce phase correlation images. The registration information can be determined based on these phase correlation images.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2008Date of Patent: November 17, 2009Assignee: Sandia CorporationInventor: Prabal Nandy

Patent number: 7589772Abstract: An apparatus and method for multispectral imaging comprising an array of filters in a mosaic pattern, a sensor array and an acquisition and processing module. The sensor array being disposed to receive an image that has been filtered by the array of filters. The acquisition and processing module processes the output of the sensor array (or mosaic acquired data) to provide a processed image. The acquisition and processing module processes the mosaic acquired data by performing first interpolation on the mosaic acquired data by the sensor array to provide a first approximation and performing second interpolation on the values of the first approximation to provide a second approximation.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2006Date of Patent: September 15, 2009Inventors: Ronald R. Patent number: RE47070Abstract: An input apparatus includes a sensor, a calculation section, and a transmission section. The sensor detects a movement of the input apparatus and outputs a detection signal corresponding to the movement of the input apparatus. The calculation section calculates a corresponding value that corresponds to a movement of an image displayed on a screen in a predetermined calculation cycle, the corresponding value corresponding to the detection signal. The transmission section transmits the corresponding value in a transmission cycle shorter than the calculation cycle.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2014Date of Patent: October 2, 2018Assignee: Sony CorporationInventor: Kazuyuki Yamamoto
