Abstract: This invention discloses a multi-pitching angle suspended space 3D display device with 360° FOV, comprising: a transmitted composite deflective diffusing screen, a high speed projector, an image generator, a detecting module and a rotating drive mechanism. The high speed projector projects the composite images of the 3D objects of different pitching angles and horizontal 360° views to the composite deflective diffusing screen that rotates at a high speed. The composite deflective diffusing screen is able to control the vertical deflecting and scattering angles and horizontal diffusing angle for incident rays with different angles, allowing the surrounding viewers at different height levels to see the images corresponding to their viewpoints, making the displayed 3D objects suspended over the composite deflecting scattering screen, of which the position does not change as the height of the viewpoint changes.

Abstract: This invention discloses an image capture device and an image synthesis method thereof. The image capture device comprises an image pickup module and a processing module. The image pickup module scans a plurality of visual angles of a scene in advance to obtain a plurality of temporary images. Each of the temporary images has a scanning focal length value. The processing module analyzes the plurality of temporary image of each of the visual angles to obtain a temporary focal length value. The processing module obtains a weighting focal length value by each temporary focal length value by using a function to control the image pickup module in order to perform a panorama image capturing process according to the weighting focal length value.

Abstract: A chart generation unit generates an adjustment chart, and a projection unit projects the adjustment chart onto a circular cylinder. A parameter acquiring unit acquires 12 parameters in total, relating to the positions of four corners and middle points of a top side and a bottom side of a chart and lateral expansion of the chart, the chart being input by a user through manipulations of an operation unit. A transform function determination unit calculates, from the total of 12 parameters, an accurate transform function for projecting an image onto the circular cylinder. An image conversion unit applies geometric transformation to the image based on the calculated transform function.

Abstract: This disclosure pertains to devices, methods, and computer readable media for perforating positional sensor-assisted panoramic photography techniques in handheld personal electronic devices. Generalized steps that may be used to carry out the panoramic photography techniques described herein include, but are not necessarily limited to: 1.) acquiring image data from the electronic device's image sensor; 2.) performing “motion filtering” on the acquired image data, e.g., using information returned from positional sensors of the electronic device to inform the processing of the image data; 3.) performing image registration between adjacent captured images; 4.) performing geometric corrections on captured image data, e.g., due to perspective changes and/or camera rotation about a non-center of perspective (COP) camera point; and 5.) “stitching” the captured images together to create the panoramic scene, e.g., blending the image data in the overlap area between adjacent captured images.

Abstract: A digital camera 100 includes an image capturing unit 16, an angular velocity sensor 22, an image determination unit 53, and an image composition unit 52. The angular velocity sensor 22 acquires a displacement amount in a field of view of image data when the image data is captured at predetermined time intervals. The image determination unit 53 sets a determination criterion for determining whether the image data thus captured is to be combined or not based on the displacement amount in the field of view acquired by the angular velocity sensor 22. Also, the image determination unit 53 determines whether or not the image data thus captured is valid as a composition target based on the determination criterion thus set. The image composition unit 52 combines image data determined by the image determination unit 53 as being valid as a composition target.

Abstract: A mobile platform uses orientation sensors and vision-based tracking to track with absolute orientation. The mobile platform generates a panoramic map by rotating a camera, which is compared to an image frame produced by the camera, to determine the orientation of the camera with respect to the panoramic map. The mobile platform also estimates an orientation of the panoramic map with respect to a world reference frame, e.g., magnetic north, using orientation sensors, including at least one accelerometer and a magnetic sensor. The orientation of the camera with respect to the world reference frame is then determined using the orientation of the camera with respect to the panoramic map and the orientation of the panoramic map with respect to the world reference frame. A filter, such as a Kalman filter, provides an accurate and stable estimate of the orientation of the panoramic map with respect to the world reference frame.
