Abstract: A technique is provided for displaying pixels of an image at arbitrary subpixel positions. In accordance with aspects of this technique, interpolated intensity values for the pixels of the image are derived based on the arbitrary subpixel location and an intensity distribution or profile. Reference to the intensity distribution provides appropriate multipliers for the source image. Based on these multipliers, the image may be rendered at respective physical pixel locations such that the pixel intensities are summed with each rendering, resulting in a destination image having suitable interpolated pixel intensities for the arbitrary subpixel position.

Abstract: In an HDMI system, the clock regenerator proposed by the HDMI specification may suffer external noise because the input clock of a phase lock loop circuit in a sink device of the HDMI system is too slow. This slow input clock causes the phase lock loop circuit unable to adjust and reduce the jitter of an audio clock regenerated in the sink device. Therefore, one embodiment of the present invention provides a clock regenerator to extract the relationship between the regenerated audio clock and a video clock received by the sink device from other source devices. The clock regenerator may comprise a phase lock loop circuit, a recovery circuit, a crystal oscillator and a tracking circuit. The crystal oscillator generates a crystal clock. The phase lock loop circuit receives the crystal clock and regenerates an audio clock. The recovery circuit extracts the relationship between the audio clock and the received video clock.

Abstract: A portable computing device (PCD) can control the operating state of a component within an accessory. For example, an accessory can have some components (e.g., a video processor) that are used for some operations but not for others. A PCD can determine whether a particular component will be used and can instruct the accessory to set the component to a desired state, e.g., powered up when in use and powered down when not in use. In some embodiments, the PCD can use status information provided by the accessory in determining a desired state for the accessory component. For example, in the case of a video converter accessory, if no display device or other video receiver is connected to the accessory, a video processor within the accessory can be powered down.
