Abstract: A method for embedding an image in a video sequence for a mobile terminal. Preferably, the mobile terminal is a tablet or smartphone. The method comprises the steps of choosing an image to be embedded, reading the video sequence, displaying a frame, and determining the presence of an embedding zone in the frame. The embedding zone having been previously identified or deduced according to a predefined algorithm. The method further comprises the step of applying a deformation to the image to be embedded such that the image to be embedded coincides with the form of the embedding zone. The image combining the frame and the image to be embedded is displayed/disposed in place of the embedding zone.

Abstract: Embodiments describe methods, apparatus and systems to provide video display correction to provide an on-axis view at an off-axis angle so that the display surface displays a rectangular video image. For instance, a device may receive a stream of video data to be displayed on a display surface of a display, the video data having a first rectangular aspect ratio to be viewed from an on-axis location with respect to the display surface. The device may also receive a user selection of an off-axis viewing angle with respect to the display surface. The device may then correct the first rectangular aspect ratio to a second, non-rectangular aspect ratio based on the off-axis viewing angle, so that from the off-axis angle, the display surface appears to display a rectangular video image. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

Abstract: A 3D-image providing device comprises: an index selection unit for selecting at least one index frame set from 3D-image data including plural frame sets; and a thumbnail generation unit for obtaining left and right images for the selected index frame set and generating a thumbnail frame set based on the obtained left and right images, wherein the frames included in the thumbnail frame set satisfy conditions that the sizes and resolution thereof are respectively small and low compared to the frames included in the index frame set. Accordingly, the 3D-image providing device generates 3D-thumbnails from the left and right images of the 3D-image data to provide 3D images considered when moving to a user-desirable reproduction time point. Also, the 3D-image supply device merges the 3D-thumbnails with 3D-broadcasting images or 3D-contents and displays the merged image. Consequently, the image providing device minimizes viewer confusion when perceiving 3D-images and increases user satisfaction.

Abstract: An image processing circuit and a method thereof are provided herein. The image processing circuit has a first scaling circuit, one or more line buffers, a first sharpness circuit, a second scaling circuit, and a second sharpness circuit. The first scaling circuit enlarges an input image along a first direction to generate a first enlarged image. The one or more line buffers temporarily store the pixel values of a plurality of pixel rows of the first enlarged image. The first sharpness circuit vertically sharpens the first enlarged image to generate a first sharpened image. The second scaling circuit enlarges the first sharpened image along a second direction to generate a second enlarged image. The second sharpness circuit horizontally sharpens the second enlarged image to generate a second sharpened image. Accordingly, it is possible to use the one or more line buffers having shorter data lengths to perform the vertical sharpening.

Abstract: This invention provides a calibration system and method for multi-unit display systems without a need for switching the system input resolution/configuration of the display system while calibrating. This serves to avoid carrying out a re-synchronization step. As such, this system and method allows for increases speed and reduced likelihood of failure. This system and method also corrects the display system by providing an arrangement that employs a minimum of required changes so as to avoid any changes that can consequently affect the output image of the display system. Calibration of the system of display units occurs free of any changes to the input resolution and this resolution is maintained in a manner that resists change unless specifically required. Moreover, this system and method enables a resolution for the overall system that differs from the sum of the input resolutions of the discrete, individual display units in the collection.

Abstract: The frame rate of a pause frame of a moving image is detected. The number of frame images of the moving image to be used in a process of increasing the resolution of a low-resolution image is determined such that a larger number of frame images is set for a higher detected frame rate. In a super-resolution process, a high-resolution image is generated using the determined number of continuous frame images including the pause frame of the moving image. This makes it possible to appropriately determine the number of frames to be referred to in the super-resolution process in accordance with the frame rate of a moving image when generating a high-resolution image from the frames of a low-resolution moving image.
