Studio Equipment Patents (Class 348/722)
  • Patent number: 11848003
Abstract: An Internet-based application allows a trainee to record a performance of a scene containing roles A and B with performers for the scene's roles alternately speaking their respective lines. The system displays the lines in a teleprompter style, and based on the experience level of the trainee, may blank out increasing portions of the teleprompter-style lines. If the trainee is assigned role A, the system will present each role A line to be spoken by the trainee with a time progress bar indicating the speed/timing or time remaining for that line. The trainee's performance is recorded by a computer. The teleprompter timer ensures that the trainee's performance is coordinated with a take of role B, even though the trainee's take and the role B take are actually recorded at different times. The takes are played in tandem for evaluating effectiveness of the training.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes devices and methods for providing movement of a payload about at least two degrees of freedom. A gimbal mechanism as described herein can provide rotation of a payload about at least two different axes, wherein the rotation about the two axes is controlled by two actuators that can be actuated independently of one another. The two actuators can be fixed in position and orientation relative to one another, such that neither actuator is driven by the other. Therefore, the gimbal mechanism can control movement of the payload about two degrees of freedom in a parallel manner. The gimbal mechanisms described herein can have a compact configuration that allows for minimizing the volume and weight of the gimbal mechanisms, while improving the stability of movement provided by the gimbal mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 9467239
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing customization in asymmetric communication are disclosed. An excess of information is broadcast from a transmitter to multiple receivers in what is optionally a one-way transmission. The excess of information includes metadata used to select which subset of the excess of information is presented to a user and which subset of the excess of information is discarded. The metadata includes criteria that are compared with various, possibly different, customization factors stored on each of the multiple receivers. This comparison is used to determine which subsets of the excess information are presented and which are discarded. Because the customization factors can be different on different receivers, customization of the presented information is achieved. The customization factors optionally include geographic information resulting in customization based on a receiver location. The excess information optionally includes radio or television signals.

Abstract: According to embodiments of the invention, systems, methods and devices are directed to removal of objects in a video feed that are captured continuously through video sources in real-time. Various embodiments of the invention implement several novel features, including, in one embodiment, a device that is coupled to cameras has an input device for selecting the objects to be removed from the feed. The selected object is removed and replaced with pixels neighboring the location where the pixels were taken from. Contour may also be controlled via the input, and sensitivity may be adjusted based on the application. Removed objects may also be selectively reintroduced into the video feed via the input device.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for determining a time period remaining until a live production system changes states. An example method involves accessing a stored television-broadcasting traffic log; making a first determination that a log-entry A in the traffic log does not correspond to a live-production source; making a second determination that a log-entry B in the traffic log is the next log entry after the log-entry A to correspond to a live-production source; making a third determination that the log-entry B includes a start-time B; responsive to making the first, second, and third determinations, proximate a current time that is on or after a start-time A corresponding to the log-entry A and that is before the start-time B, determining a time period as a difference between the current time and the start-time B; and providing the determined time-period to an output device for presentation proximate the current time.
