Abstract: An image transmission system for a rear projection television includes a main board module and an optical engine module connected to the main board module. When the system actuates, the main board module receives control and image signals to allow a CPU of the main board module commanding a CPU of the optical engine module. The CPU of the optical engine module commands a light valve unit of the optical engine module to generate images that are then projected onto a screen. Because each module is controlled by its corresponding CPU and has a standardized connection port, the modules can be separately debugged and easily connected to external peripherals, thereby reducing the research and development time.

Abstract: A CRT support panel for a projection television set is provided that includes a generally vertically extending body, a mounting foot extending from the base of the body and a handle extending from the top of the body. The body preferably has a thin walled open corrugated profile. The corrugated profile enables the cross-section of the panel to be increased to significantly increase it strength to guard against buckling without significantly increasing its weight. The panel, which is preferably plastic injection molded as a unitary part, tends to have sufficient flexibility to guard against shock and vibration damage during transportation.

  • Patent number: 6793347
Abstract: A video projector includes a cabinet, and adjusters provided in bottom and top surfaces of the cabinet and located on left and right positions of the bottom and top surfaces close to the front surface of the cabinet. The adjusters are supported by shafts perpendicular to the front surface so as to be rotatable in an angular range of 90°. When the adjusters are postured to be perpendicular to bottom and top surfaces of the cabinet, the cabinet is placed horizontally. When the adjusters are postured to be perpendicular to left and right side surfaces of the cabinet, the cabinet is placed vertically. Since a horizontal/vertical placement change-over switch is operated in accordance with the horizontal/vertical placement of the cabinet, a video image can be projected correctly onto a screen regardless of the horizontal/vertical placement of the cabinet.

Abstract: A projection television including a CRT assembly projecting image beams, and a lower casing accommodating the CRT assembly therein. The projection television further includes a pair of grip parts inwardly recessed on opposite sides of the lower casing so that the CRT assembly is supported by the pair of grip parts. With this configuration, the projection television has a reduced weight with a simple structure, thereby facilitating transportation thereof and decreasing the cost of production and custody therefor. Further, the lower casing provided with the grip part is made of the conductive metallic material, thereby preventing deformation or deterioration due to changes in temperature and humidity, effectively discharging out heat generated from a CRT assembly, and effectively blocking EMI. Further, there is provided a reinforcing member made of the conductive metallic material, thereby effectively discharging out heat generated from a CRT assembly and effectively blocking EMI.
