Separation Of Synchronizing Signals From Picture Signals (epo) Patents (Class 348/E5.017)
  • Patent number: 12137292
Abstract: Imagers and associated devices and systems are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, an imager includes a pixel array and control circuitry operably coupled to the pixel array. The pixel array includes an imaging pixel configured to produce a reset signal and a non-imaging pixel configured to produce a nominal reset signal. The control circuitry is configured to produce an output signal based at least in part on one of (a) the nominal reset signal when distortion at the imaging pixel exceeds a threshold and (b) the reset signal when distortion does not exceed the threshold.

  • Patent number: 11770207
Abstract: In a message modulated according to orthogonal amplitude-modulated component signals in 5G or 6G, the receiver can attempt to recover a corrupted message by evaluating the modulation quality of each component signal in each message element. The modulation quality of each component signal may be determined according to a distance between the amplitude of the component signal and the closest amplitude level of the modulation scheme, as determined by a prior demodulation reference. The modulation quality may also be determined by the SNR and amplitude stability of the component signal. Upon detecting a corrupted message, the receiver can identify the faulted message elements according to modulation quality, and if the faulted message elements are clustered in a portion of the message (as is common), the receiver can request that just the faulted portion be retransmitted, saving time and bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 8654873
Abstract: In one embodiment, a Television (TV) receiver to perform a method of synchronizing a demodulator at a Viterbi decode input in the TV receiver using one or more bit de-interleaved even and odd Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols is provided. The method includes (i) performing a Viterbi decoding on the bit de-interleaved even and odd OFDM symbols when a frame boundary does not exist for the bit de-interleaved even and odd OFDM symbols, (ii) performing a convolutional encoding on an decoded data output of the Viterbi decoding, (iii) determining whether an output of the convolutional encoding of the bit de-interleaved OFDM symbols matches an input at a Viterbi decode, and (iv) determining whether the output of the convolutional encoding of the bit de-interleaved even and odd OFDM symbols matches with a SYNC pattern or a SYNC? pattern to obtain a RS packet align boundary.

  • Patent number: RE40411
Abstract: This invention is a method and apparatus for identifying and separating the synchronizing signal component of video like signals by identifying or detecting the arrangement or sequence of the known occurances of events or patterns of the sync. The invention also provides for establishing data slicing references in response to the levels of known portions of the sync component.

  • Patent number: RE40412
Abstract: The present invention provides a synchronizing signal separation. In accordance with the present invention, a sync pulse processing circuitry slices a video signal and senses the peaks of the synchronizing pulse. A reference generating circuitry divides the output from the sync pulse processing circuitry into a plurality of reference signals that are compared with the video signal, thereby producing logic level outputs. A sync restoring circuitry combines the logic level outputs to provide precisely reconstructed synchronizing pulses of the video signal. The present invention incorporates different standard functions with superior performance because it may be applied for different types of video signals.
