  • Patent number: 11662804
Abstract: Systems and methods for operating a controlled device via a wearable activation accessory that includes a sensor configured to detect relaxed and flexed conditions of muscles associated with clenching, flexing, and/or lateral displacement of a wearer's muscle, thereby allowing the wearer to generate control signals for a controlled element. The sensor is coupled to a controller, which has an output coupled to a control signal interface. The controller is programmed to receive and evaluate input signals from the sensor to determine whether or not they represent a command for the controlled device by assessing the input signals for a signal pattern indicative of a plurality of volitional muscle motion actions of a wearer of the wearable activation accessory. If/when the processor determines that the input signals represent a valid command, it decodes the command and transmits an associated control signal to the controlled device via the control signal interface.

  • Patent number: 11592907
Abstract: A user may routinely wear or hold more than one computing devices. One of the computing devices may be a head-mounted computing-device configured for augmented reality. The head-mounted computing-device may include a camera. While imaging, the camera can consume power and processing resources that diminish a battery of the head-mounted computing device. To improve a battery life and to enhance a user's privacy, imaging of the camera can be deactivated during periods when the user is not interacting with the head-mounted computing device and activated when the user wishes to interact with the head-mounted computing device. The activation of the camera can be triggered by gestured data collected by a computing device other than the head-mounted computing-device.

  • Patent number: 9964633
Abstract: During flight, a military aircraft can use an infrared countermeasures (IRCM) system. The IRCM system can use a wide field of view sensor to detect a spectral signature of a missile and record a coarse estimate of the angular location of the missile. Upon such detection, the IRCM system can trigger a narrow field of view sensor to more finely determine the angular location of the missile. The narrow field of view sensor can emit infrared light toward the missile, which can confuse the guidance system of the missile and can help redirect the missile away from the aircraft. During time intervals when the narrow field of view sensor is not actively locating a missile, the IRCM system can use the narrow field of view sensor to form an infrared communications link with a corresponding narrow field of view sensor of a corresponding IRCM system of another aircraft.
