  • Patent number: 11057676
Abstract: A content selector retrieves customization criteria corresponding to a plurality of guests of a hospitality location. According to the criteria, a core set of channels is automatically selected to make available from a plurality of available channels for streaming via the external computer network. Bandwidth between the external computer network and the hospitality location is reserved to ensure all core channels can be concurrently streamed to the hospitality location. An interactive program guide available on the entertainment devices is customized to list at least one of the core channels as available for viewing. For each channel of the core set, the channel is streamed to the hospitality location only when the channel is being viewed on at least one of the entertainment devices. Updated guest related customization criteria is retrieved and the core channels available for viewing are dynamically changed as the guests of the hospitality location change over time.

The protocol can be a non-standard universal serial bus (USB) protocol and can guarantee bandwidth and latency for information communication between a USB host and a single USB device. In one aspect, the non-standard USB protocol can employ a repeating message sequence that is fixed, or static, and preconfigured, the sequence comprising alternating transmission of messages between a first device (e.g., a host device) and a second device (e.g., a peripheral device).

Abstract: A first terminal 1000 includes: a local terminal transmission rate acquisition unit 100 for acquiring a transmission rate of an application in the first terminal 1000; a search range control unit 110 for deciding an upper limit of a search range of an available bandwidth of a communication line, using the transmission rate; and a probe packet transmission unit 120 for transmitting a probe packet to a second terminal 2000 in a bandwidth less than or equal to the upper limit. The second terminal 2000 includes: a probe packet receiving unit 200 for receiving the probe packet; and an available bandwidth estimation unit 210 for estimating the available bandwidth based on the received probe packet.

  • Patent number: 9363554
Abstract: A plurality of intelligent device systems for use with a wideband signal distribution network, and methods for transmitting digital information and receiving digital and non-digital information onto and off of an RF carrier through a wideband signal distribution network, are disclosed. The intelligent device systems provide networks of intelligent devices that modulate and demodulate digital video, IP video/data/voice and digital wireless onto, and off of, a wideband signal distribution system, such as an analog carrier system, using existing EIA/TIA 568 standard wiring infrastructure. The methods modulate and demodulate digital video, IP video/data/voice and digital wireless onto, and off of, a wideband distribution system, such as an analog carrier system, and separate IP portions from non-IP portions.

  • Patent number: 9319616
Abstract: An audio/video (A/V) display system comprising a display and a peripheral device connected to the display. The display is capable of displaying a user interface. The peripheral device transmits raw data of the peripheral device to the display. The display enables an option corresponding to the peripheral device in the user interface after receiving the raw data of the peripheral device. Both the display and the peripheral device are controlled by a control device.

  • Patent number: 8583029
Abstract: A satellite system for transmission of signals of two different frequencies and polarizations simultaneously, and will accommodate two different polarity commands from different sources at the same time. The satellite system includes a satellite antenna that receives signals. A head-in frequency processor enables the different frequencies and polarizations to be transmitted simultaneously via a single coaxial cable. This single coaxial cable is coupled to a head-out receiver processor which is connected to a receiver. This configuration provides for the system that will permit for satellite broadcasting in locations that are not in the line-of-sight path to the satellites such as high-rises, hospitals, condominiums, schools, and the like.

Abstract: The present invention provides for a satellite system that will permit for the transmission of signals of two different frequencies and polarities to be transmitted simultaneously, also the system will accommodate two different polarity commands from two or more different sources at the same time. The satellite system of the present invention includes a satellite dish or antenna that receive signals. These received signals are then transmitted to a converter. A head-in frequency processor is coupled to the converter. This head-in frequency processor enables the different frequencies and polarities to be transmitted simultaneously via a single coaxial cable. This single coaxial cable is coupled to a head-out receiver processor which is connected to a receiver. This receiver is connected to a source. This unique design and configuration provides for the system that will permit for satellite broadcasting to occur in locations that are not in the line-of-sight path to the satellites.

Abstract: A satellite signal distribution system distributes signal blocks of two different received frequencies and polarities simultaneously over the same cable. The satellite system includes a satellite dish or antenna that receives signals. These received signals are transmitted to a block frequency converter that enables the different frequency polarity blocks to be distributed simultaneously via a single cable. The cable is coupled to a head-out receiver processor which distributes the signals to satellite receivers. The receivers are connected to TVs or other sources. This unique design and configuration provides for a system that will permit satellite broadcast signal distribution to high-rise buildings, hospitals, condominiums, schools, and the like.
