  • Patent number: 11829411
Abstract: A data recovery method includes receiving a request to recover target audio and video behavior data generated during use of an audio and video application by a target user. The target audio and video behavior data has been deleted from a database. The method includes obtaining a target data category of the target audio and the video behavior data; searching a blockchain system for the target audio and video behavior data based on the target data category, the blockchain system being configured to store operation data generated by the audio and video application that includes first operation data of audio and video behavior data. The method includes storing the target audio and video behavior data in the database; and returning the target audio and video behavior data to the target user.

  • Patent number: 11212568
Abstract: In some aspects, control circuitry detects a plurality of instances in which the number of requests to simultaneously stream media from a subscription service to different devices exceeds a number of streams available to the user from the subscription service. The control circuitry generates a plurality of timestamps corresponding to the plurality of instances, and compares each timestamp to a range of timestamps that corresponds to a subscription period for the subscription service in order to determine a number of instances that occurred during the subscription period. The control circuitry compares the number of instances that occurred during the subscription period to a threshold number for the subscription period. Control circuitry transmits a message, from the server to one of the different devices, if the threshold is exceeded.

  • Patent number: 10565596
Abstract: Systems and methods providing, by a third party, input form fields for sensitive data on a web page provided by an organization. A user may request a web page from an organization, such as a merchant's checkout web page, that requires entry of sensitive data. The merchant's checkout web page may include reference to a script file that provides hosted sensitive data form fields. In response to rendering the merchant web page in a web browser of the user, a request to provide sensitive data form fields on the merchant web page may be received. The request may include a call to a function in a scripting file provided by the third party, and the provided file may cause one or more inline frames to be rendered in the web browser, each inline frame including a sensitive data form field. Data entered by the user in the sensitive data form fields may be received by a third party payment processor device.

  • Patent number: 10387618
Abstract: Example methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture for monitoring use of a research device is disclosed. The disclosed example includes producing monitored data by monitoring at least one of the user's heart activity, the user's breathing activity, the user's borborygmus (gastrointestinal noise), the user's vascular pattern, the user's facial and/or ear patterns, the user's fingerprint and/or handprint, and the user's retinal and/or iris pattern, and determining the user's compliance with a predetermined criterion for use of the portable research device based on the monitored data.

  • Patent number: 10375343
Abstract: A gateway for location at a user premises is provided. Bother users and user devices are registered with the gateway which is provided by a service provider. Users access services, such as video streaming, on their user devices via the gateway. The gateway allows users to share content. The gateway collects information about the user's patterns of behavior for the system provider, and can be used to directly obtain feedback from the users.

  • Patent number: 9645624
Abstract: An electronic apparatus comprises a switch, a processing unit, a functional unit and a power management unit. The function unit has a timer. The power management unit is coupled to the processing unit and the function unit. The processing unit and the function unit receive a switch signal generated by the switch. The processing unit generates a power-down signal after detecting a change in the logic level of the switch signal received for a first predetermined time. The timer starts counting upon detecting a change in the logic level of the switch signal, and executes a power-down procedure after the timer has counted to a second predetermined time. The second time is less than the first predetermined time. The function unit completes the power-down procedure before the power management unit receives the power-down signal and stops powering the processing unit and the function unit.

  • Patent number: 9411414
Abstract: A method of providing immersive effects includes receiving data representative of at least one image. The image data is analyzed to locate at least one object identified within the image. A visual focus of attention of at least one subject able to observe the at least one image is estimated. At least one signal is provided in dependence on at least a position of the visual focus of attention relative to the location of the at least one object in the 5 at least one image to a system (16-19; 31-34) for providing an immersive effect to the at least one subject.

  • Patent number: 8370889
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for enabling a switched digital video (SDV) client to intelligently generate and transmit reverse request in a SDV system. In this manner, reverse channel traffic is reduced. During rapid channel changes using the up and down keys on a remote control, the SDV client waits a predetermined amount of time before generating a reverse request that is subsequently transmitted upstream to a headend server. By way of example, changing broadcasted channels quickly will not generate a reverse request until the predetermined amount of time is over. In the event that a changed channel is an SDV session, a program select request is immediately generated in order to begin receiving the SDV session.

  • Patent number: 7849490
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product for providing scalability for channel change requests in a Switched Digital Video system is presented. A request for a channel change is received. A determination is made regarding whether a channel requested by the request for a channel change is currently being provided to the settop box. When the channel requested by the request for a channel change is being provided to the settop box then the request for a channel change is buffered for transmission at a later time. When the channel requested by the request for a channel change is not being provided to the settop box then the request for a channel change is immediately sent to an SDV server in communication with the settop box.
