Control Of The Passage Of The Selected Program (epo) Patents (Class 348/E7.074)
  • Patent number: 11239984
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure are generally directed to disabling sounding, resource-block allocation, and various full-duplex (FDX) capabilities in a particular portion of a spectrum used in FDX-enabled cable networks. The disclosure further describes using an upstream mode of communication in the particular portion of the spectrum originally designated for FDX communication. In another aspect, the disclosure can thereby facilitate an increase in upstream capacity on the cable network, for example, a fifteen-fold increase in the upstream capacity. In some embodiments, control messages can be transmitted from a controller node to devices on the network periodically, describing the usage of the FDX portion of the spectrum for upstream transmission. The control messages can include medium access control (MAC) management messages and/or tag-length-value (TLV) messages.

  • Patent number: 10757794
Abstract: A user programmable pushbutton switch system having a central processing unit (CPU), an IR transceiver, lights, and a current sensor. The switch is programmed with a remote controller having a CPU, an IR transceiver, programming buttons, a sending button, and a display. The programming buttons provide signals to the CPU in the remote controller for selection of specific program options which are sent to the CPU in the pushbutton switch when the ENTER button is pressed. The specific program options are then executed in the pushbutton switch. The program options include Function, Current, Dimmer, Turn timer off, and Turn timer on options. The Function options include ON/OFF through one electrical output channel, a momentary ON function through one channel, Nav/Anc through two channels, OFF-ON-ON with two channels, and a dimmer function with two channels.

  • Patent number: 9848211
Abstract: A set-top box with an interactive portal and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the set-top box, the set-top box is deployed to provide an interactive portal in a hospitality establishment having multiple rooms, such as a hotel. The set-top box is associated with a room and includes a housing that secures a television input, a television output, a processor, a transceiver, and memory therein in an interconnected bus architecture. The set-top box generates a default interactive portal as well as a guest-specific interactive portal, which is generated from a guest configuration profile having information including guest identification, a guest channel preference presentation, and a guest service preference presentation with guest account information. The guest configuration profile may also enable the creation of a local area wireless network with substantially the same behavior as the guest's home wireless network.
