Intermittent Light Patents (Class 352/200)
  • Patent number: 8953095
Abstract: The invention provides a flash light device, which includes a light source, a light diffuser and a light diffuser's driving unit. The light diffuser's driving unit provides the light diffuser with a required driving voltage according to a voltage information, in which the voltage information is determined according to an original image without light-complementing of the light source and a pre-flash image with light-complementing of the light source.

  • Publication number: 20090147219
Abstract: Systems and methods for projecting motion pictures using a light source comprising an electrodeless lamp (12, 54). The electrodeless lamp (12, 54) may be used with a motion picture film projector or a so-called “digital cinema” projector, as well as a projector for projecting still images. The electrodeless lamp (12, 54) may be operated in a pulsed mode, thereby eliminating the need for a shutter in a typical film projector. The light source also may employ a plurality of electrodeless lamps (32, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 80). Each lamp may be selected to provide radiation corresponding to a different spectral composition. For example, the lamps may emit red, blue, and green light to illuminate a plurality of “Digital Micromirror Devices” (58) or other digital imaging means.

  • Patent number: 6545742
Abstract: A lighting system comprises a plurality of switchable light generators the light output from which can be switched ‘on’ or ‘off’. The system further comprises a camera to which light from a scene illuminated by a designated light generator is directed, a scene record inhibitor and a sync. signal generator means which is arranged to synchronise switch operation of the light generators with operation of the record inhibitor. In this manner the camera records light from the scene only when the scene is illuminated by the designated light generator.

  • Patent number: 4509836
Abstract: A multi format shutterless inspection projector for motion picture film whereby the image projected will include a full frame heightwise and margin to margin widthwise to view the picture, sound track and sprocket holes. The apparatus includes condensing lenses, projection lenses and a shutterless film gate mounted therebetween. The illumination means is a strobe light and accompanying apparatus capable of exciting the lamp to micro-second flashes. In addition triggering means is on the projector to fire the strobe light apparatus and the triggering means is geared to the speed of travel of the film through the projector. Further, damping means are provided to control tension on the film as it enters the projector and also there are means to control the speed of the takeup reel motor.

  • Patent number: 3998534
Abstract: An electronic flash unit for photographic purposes, in which there is a first thyristor in series with the flash tube, and a second thyristor which, in series with a quenching capacitor, is in parallel with the first thyristor. The first thyristor is quenched at the appropriate time, by quenching current from the quenching capacitor, and after the first thyristor has been rendered non-conductive, the second capacitor is also rendered non-conductive by forced commutation. The arrangement shortens the recovery time of the apparatus, as compared with prior art apparatus of this same general type, to such an extent that the flash apparatus may be used with a motion picture camera as well as a still camera, to produce one or more flashes during each shutter-open cycle of the motion picture camera.
