Common Light Source For Picture And Sound Patents (Class 352/28)
  • Patent number: 11099075
Abstract: Systems and methods directed toward acoustic analysis can include an acoustic sensor array comprising a plurality of acoustic sensor elements, an electromagnetic imaging tool, a distance measuring tool, and a processor in communication with the acoustic sensor array, the electromagnetic imaging tool, and the distance measuring tool. The processor can be configured to generate acoustic image data based on acoustic signals received from the acoustic sensor array and distance information received from the distance measuring tool. The processor can combine the generated acoustic image data and received electromagnetic image data from the electromagnetic imaging tool to create a display image including acoustic image data and electromagnetic image data. The processor can be configured to correct a parallax error between the electromagnetic image data and the acoustic image data based on the received distance information.

  • Patent number: 6985206
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for detecting the speed and/or location of a moving object within a target area are disclosed. A pitch speed measurement and strike zone detection apparatus in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention may include a support frame configured to support a pair of reflective surfaces on either side of a target area. A light source and receiver configured to direct a light beam back and forth between the reflective surfaces can be used to form a light curtain that detects when an object passes through a particular location within the target area. Multiple light sources and receivers may be employed to measure the speed of the object, and to determine whether the object passes through a particular strike zone. The device may include an adjustment mechanism and self-alignment laser to reposition the reflective surfaces, as necessary.

  • Patent number: 4973151
Abstract: A rigid transparent cylinder is rotated about its axis of symmetry at a relatively high rate of speed by means of a motor. Around a portion of the circumference of the rotating cylinder is wrapped a flexible imaging medium such as photographic film, to which is applied longitudinal tension through means of a film transport. The film conforms to the curvature of the drum, but is held a small distance above the surface of the cylinder in equilibrium between the aerodynamic forces created by the rotating cylinder and the applied tension of the film transport, thus effecting a compliant surface air bearing. A stationary lamp within or behind the transparent cylinder passes light through the cylinder to project an image from the film onto a scanning element by use of a conventional optical system.
