Abstract: An opening and closing mechanism for photographic film cartridges of the type having a film-receiving tray with outwardly extending front and side lips and a flexible cover for the tray resealably engaged with the lips. The opening and closing mechanism includes a cartridge-receiving base with front and side lips for supporting the front and side lips of the tray. A carriage is mounted for movement with respect to the base. An elongated roller including cartridge cover-engaging fingers is rotatably and movably mounted to the carriage. Springs bias the roller toward engagement with the lips of the base. A carriage drive assembly includes a roller drive linkage, a track drive linkage, a motor and a shuttle linkage. A rack is mounted adjacent to the base for engagement by the track drive linkage.

Abstract: Film boxes for attachment to and use with a camera are keyed and secured by thumb screws to a shutter housing of the camera to permit detachment and accurte reattachment. Light restrictive devices negate transmission of light into each film box upon removal of same. A longitudinally displaceable film reel drive permits rapid disengagement and reengagment of the film boxes without careful alignment and a belt drive prevents, through slippage, film tearing forces.

Abstract: A photo-pressure sensitive sheet cartridge includes: an outlet from which a photo-pressure sensitive sheet is drawn out; a lid which closes the outlet in order to exclude the outer light; and an opening and closing lever for operating the lid to be opened or closed. When a sheet of photo-pressure sensitive paper is drawn out of this cartridge, the lid is opened in order to prevent the microcapsules on the sheet from being ruptured by pressure. While the photo-pressure sensitive sheet outside the cartridge is being exposed to light on a determined area in the copying machine, the lid is closed in order to prevent light from entering the cartridge.

Abstract: The attachment cassette for roll film, cassette type camera is provided with sliding control member which simultaneously controls the displacement of film pressure plate relative to a film gate opening, and a shifting movement of a flexible control member for the opening. The flexible control member is in the form of a steel band which is slidably guided in the cassette housing and is provided with transverse score lines to facilitate manipulation.

Abstract: A tape containing cartridge has a front wall with a transducer-receiving opening and a side wall has a capstan-receiving opening. A flexible sliding shutter is disposed in a shutter guide extending across said openings inside the cartridge. The flexible shutter can be slid between an open position where both openings are exposed and a closed position where both openings are covered for protecting a tape in the cartridge. The flexible sliding shutter has a flexible bifurcated detent such that in a closed position of the shutter the detent is positioned along a second side wall closer to the front wall while in the open position of the shutter it is positioned along the second side wall closer to the back wall. The bifurcated detent has pawls at its bifurcated end which, in the closed position of the shutter, engage the guide locking the shutter closed. To play the tape, the tape cartridge is inserted into a cartridge housing of a tape cartridge player with the front wall being a leading plane.

Abstract: A camera-processor magazine is disclosed having a cartridge for storing light sensitive roll material, together with means for driving such material out of the cartridge and upon an exposure platen. A roller curtain for shielding the material when the magazine is open also functions to guide the leading portion of the roll material across the exposure platen and into the nip of a pair of exit rollers.

Abstract: A mechanism for conditioning a film cassette for plural film handling modes. The mechanism is effective to condition the film cassette for particular film handling modes by controlling the entry of light into the cassette and controlling the status of the film guides and the film pressure plate at the film gate area.
