The color separation system separates the light emitted from the illumination device into blue light, red light, and green light. The light combining system can have a first dichroic filter reflecting one of blue light or red light, and a second dichroic filter reflecting green light which are placed in a crossed state and can combine image lights of respective colors exiting from the first through third light modulation devices. The projection system can project a combined light exiting from the light combining system while correcting chromatic aberrations of magnification of blue light and red light with respect to green light. The optical adjustment portion can adjust a size of an image light corresponding to the green light of the combined light exiting from the light combining system.

Abstract: Automated orientation of an image presented by a display, such as a projector, with the orientation of the display simplifies presentation of images generated by an information handling system. A display orientation sensor detects the orientation of a display so that a display orientation module automatically adjusts the orientation of an image presented by the display to align with the display orientation. For example, display orientation is sensed by an accelerometer associated with the display or by determining the attachment point of the display to a support.

Abstract: A white image is projected on a projection surface with a projector and color information of the white image is captured by a color sensor 11. A color transformation providing color appearance matching is generated based on color space of an input image and color space on the projection surface, and is stored in a memory. The color of the input image is subjected to color correction using the color transformation. After subjected to gamma correction if necessary, the color-corrected image is output to the projector.

  • Patent number: 7293883
Abstract: A CPU 120 acquires a zoom volume Z conveyed by a zoom lens position detector 122, and calculates a light valve white area Sq according to that zoom volume Z. The CPU 120 revises the adjustment pattern image based on the calculated light valve white area Sq, rewrites the contents of the pattern image memory 107, and gives instructions to project the image to an image processing unit 108, and a liquid crystal light valve drive unit 110, etc. On the liquid crystal light valve 114 is formed a pattern image for which the white part area is revised to Sq, and that revised pattern image is enlarged and projected for display on the screen. The CPU 120 gives instruction for sense to the imaging control unit 105. By doing this, even when the zoom position of the zoom lens changes, it is possible to have the average value of the gradation value of the white part for the sensed image approximately maintain the desired gradation value.
