  • Patent number: 10175630
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum, a cleaning blade, and a movement mechanism. The movement mechanism reciprocates the photosensitive drum in an axial direction of the photosensitive drum in a specific cycle. The movement mechanism includes a first cam gear and a second cam gear. The first cam gear rotates about an axis of the photosensitive drum together with the photosensitive drum. The second cam gear is restricted in position in the axial direction and rotates at a rotational speed different from that of the first cam gear. The first and second cam gears each have a plurality of coaxial cam portions. When top points and bottom points of the respective cam portions come in contact with one another by turns, the photosensitive drum moves in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 9740157
Abstract: A photoconductor unit for an electrophotographic image forming device according to one example embodiment includes a housing and a photoconductive drum rotatably mounted on the housing. The photoconductive drum includes a drive coupler that is positioned to mate with a corresponding drive coupler of the image forming device to receive rotational and axial force therefrom for rotating and axially biasing the photoconductive drum when the photoconductor unit is installed in the image forming device. A wear member is positioned to receive frictional contact from a portion of the photoconductive drum in a direction of the axial bias on the photoconductive drum such that as the photoconductive drum rotates, the frictional contact on the wear member gradually wears away the wear member in the direction of the axial bias on the photoconductive drum thereby gradually shifting the photoconductive drum axially in the direction of the axial bias.

  • Patent number: 9594338
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a housing, a photosensitive drum, a cleaning member, a driving transmission portion, and a movement mechanism. The photosensitive drum is rotatably supported by the housing about a first shaft portion. The driving transmission portion transmits a rotation driving force to the photosensitive drum. The movement mechanism reciprocates the photosensitive drum in an axial direction. The movement mechanism includes a first rotation gear, a second rotation gear, a first intermediate gear, and a second intermediate gear. The first rotation gear integrally rotates with the photosensitive drum. The second rotation gear has teeth different in number from teeth of the first rotation gear and rotates with a predetermined speed difference relative to the first rotation gear. The first and second intermediate gears are a pair of rotation gears rotatable about a second shaft portion parallel to the first shaft portion.

  • Patent number: 9531547
Abstract: Examples perform external verification of authenticity of software components loaded onto virtual machines (VM). A processor, external to the VM, reads the loaded software component from the VM, and restores the loaded software component to its disk image state by undoing any changes made to load the software component. The digital signature is read from the restored disk image of the software and compared to the verified digital signature of the publisher of the software component. Some examples contemplate marking the software component as verified or unverified, and preventing unverified software components from making global changes.

  • Patent number: 7219973
Abstract: The present invention provides an image-forming device that can record an image onto a rewritable image recording medium. Prior to recording a predetermined image, the medium is set and a test image for measuring the density is recorded thereon. When the density is determined to be within an allowable range, the predetermined image is recorded under certain image recording conditions and then discharged to a discharging tray. However, should the density be outside the allowable range, the conditions are changed and another test image is recorded to the medium. If after repeated density measurements the density is not within an allowable range, the device determines that the medium is defective and discharges it to an error tray.

Abstract: A photoresist discharge monitoring apparatus is disclosed, in which the photoresist discharge rate is monitored during its discharge by a discharge pump, and based on this monitoring, the discharge pump is controlled, so that a constant photoresist discharge rate is ensured, thereby making it possible to prevent any occurrence of process defects due to the discharge pump. If the photoresist discharge rate is decreased due to the exhaustion of the life expectancy of the chemical filter, a filter replacement necessity is displayed on a display part. The apparatus includes the following elements. That is, a PR (photoresist) discharge rate sensor senses the photoresist discharge rate, the discharge rate being decided by the discharge pump.

Abstract: In an imaging method including the steps of irradiating light from light emitting means (4) to a target object to be imaged (S) such as a cardboard box, including an identifier marking (3) at a second portion (d2) thereof printed on a first portion (d1) constituting an ornamental design (2) printed on a cardboard box side face (1A) and then receiving the reflected light therefrom by light receiving means (5) so as to image the object (S), the first portion (d1) and the second portion (d2) are provided with different reflection factors for the near-infrared range light from each other. The light emitted from the light emitting means (4) includes a near-infrared range light component and the light receiving means (5) receives the near-infrared range light component for the imaging. With these, even when the marking is printed on a background having a dark color, the marking can be detected accurately and reliably as being distinct from the background.

Abstract: By performing preliminary scanning, a document identification unit determines whether a document is a dark document, such as a negative film, that requires excess exposure, or an ordinary document that does not require excess exposure. When it is determined that the document does not require excess exposure, an exposure time setting unit sets an exposure time for a line sensor. Then, in consonance with the designated exposure time, the line sensor initiates the reading of a black reference. Thereafter, in accordance with an excess exposure time that is designated, a black reference data preparation unit prepares black reference data. Since the black reference is read during the same period as the excess exposure time and the black reference data is prepared, the detailed tones of the dark portion of the document can be expressed, and the quality of the image can be improved.

Abstract: A toner having a good chargeability stable against an environmental change is formed of toner particles each comprising at least a binder resin, a colorant, a release agent and a sulfur-containing polymer, and an external additive. The toner particles contain 100 to 30,000 ppm by weight thereof of at least one stabilizer element selected from the group consisting of magnesium, calcium, barium, zinc, aluminum and phosphorus. The toner particles may preferably be produced by suspension polymerization of a monomer composition containing the sulfur-containing polymer in an aqueous medium containing a dispersion stabilizer having the stabilizer element.
