Specific To Image Source Patents (Class 358/1.6)
  • Patent number: 7773244
Abstract: A sensed image is saved in a printer in an environment in which a digital camera can directly communicate with a printer, and the sensed image can be directly printed. A printer and a digital camera (DSC) can be directly connected to each other via a USB interface. Upon this direct connection, the digital camera and printer serve as a print system, and the DSC serves as a user interface in that system. When the user inputs a print instruction of a desired image on the DSC, a print process of that image is executed. When the user inputs a save instruction of a given image, that image is saved in a storage device in the printer. Even when the image is erased on the DSC side, original image data can be prevented from being lost.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for designing an image restoration filter and a method and an apparatus for restoring an image by using the image restoration filter are provided. A test image is captured by an imaging system to obtain image information of the test image. The image restoration filter is then calculated according to original image information of the test image and the image information obtained by the imaging system through a numerical method, such that the obtained image information after being processed by the image restoration filter has a better similarity to the original image information. Thereafter, an image captured by the imaging system is processed by using the image restoration filter as a kernel, so as to resolve the problems of image blur and distortion caused by the optical path and the imaging system.

  • Patent number: 7760392
Abstract: A synchronization system for an electrographic device comprises a laser driver that drives a laser source to emit a beam having an intensity that corresponds to a laser power control signal. The beam is swept across a light detector, which generates a detection signal based upon measured intensity, and a comparing device outputs a synchronization signal based upon a comparison of the detection signal with a control signal that corresponds to the laser power control signal. Alternatively, the detection signal may be compared with a reference signal where a programmable device scales at least one of the detection signal and the reference signal based upon the laser power control signal. The synchronization signal goes active in response to the laser beam in a sufficiently consistent manner regardless of the laser beam intensity by calibrating the sensitivity of the synchronization system based upon the control signal, which corresponds to the laser power control signal.

The system stores the first side image of the object. The user turns the object onto a second side and places the second side on the platen. The system scans a second side image of the object. The system further prints the first side image adjacent to the second side image in a single pass on a media sheet.

  • Patent number: 7679759
Abstract: A mechanism for performing tab paper printing and test printing by simple operation is provided. A printer performs a print process with an image formation position unshifted in the test printing and a print process with the image formation position shifted in the tab paper printing. In case of performing the tab paper printing after the test printing, the printing is performed by using print data already held in the printer or a host computer. It structured to enable to output to a plain paper a print result in which a decoration is added only to a tab position correspondence portion, enable to change its decoration method, and enable easy discrimination of the position. By the above structure, a user can easily correct the position of the content intended to be printed on a tab, and costs necessary for the tab paper used in the test can be reduced.

Abstract: A method and device are disclosed for producing individualized patterns from a genre-specific prototype pattern. The prototype pattern is stored in the form of electronically-readable prototype pattern data and individualized pattern data is generated from the prototype pattern data by electronic data processing. The individualized pattern data is modified relative to the prototype pattern data such that the individualized patterns differ from the prototype pattern but the genre of the pattern is still visually recognizable.

Abstract: A light flux emitted from a light source is split into two by a light flux splitting unit, and these are respectively made incident on upper and lower tiers of polygon mirrors of a deflecting unit which coaxially rotates two polygon mirrors one on the other while being shifted in angles from each other. The respective light fluxes that have been deflected for scanning at mutually different timings by the deflecting unit respectively reach individual photodetectors through a first scanning lens, mirrors, and a second scanning lens as a predetermined light system and carry out main scanning.

Abstract: An apparatus, method, mobile station and computer program product are provided for filtering noise from a digital signal. In particular, a signal-dependent noise model is used that provides the pointwise (or pixelwise) standard deviation of the temporal noise of raw data outputted from a digital imaging sensor as a function of the image intensity. In addition, unlike conventional noise models, the standard deviation of the noise (?) is a parameterized function, where the parameters are key characteristics of the digital imaging sensor. These parameters may include, for example, the pedestal level (p), the quantum efficiency (q), and the analogue gain (?) associated with the digital imaging sensor.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus according to embodiments of the present invention prints an image including a writing region for a user to write on onto a recording sheet, scans the recording sheet whose writing region is written in, combines an image extracted from the scanned image with a background image, and prints it. The apparatus prints a mark indicating the writing region on the recording sheet and cuts out a partial region including the position of the mark after the scanning. The apparatus features extracting an image in a region showing a content written in the writing region from an image that is cut out and rotated in accordance with the orientation of the background image on the basis of the mark image. This allows images to be combined with little misalignment even if the handwriting combining sheet is placed in an inclined state on a document plate.
