These determination and detection results are combined to determine whether the received fax is an auto-reply. Auto-reply faxes may be saved but not automatically printed, or forwarded to an email box of the sender of the original fax, etc.

    Abstract: An acousto-optic spectrometer/polarimeter for analyzing an incident broad-band beam including an acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) for separating the incident broad-band beam into a diffracted extraordinary narrow-band beam, a diffracted ordinary narrow-band beam, and at least one undiffracted broad-band beam; first, second and third detectors respectively positioned to respectfully receive at least a portion of the diffracted extraordinary narrow-band beam, the diffracted ordinary narrow broad-band beam and the at least one undiffracted broad-band beam, and to respectively provide first, second and third signals based thereon; a subtracter for providing a polarimeter output by taking the difference between the first and the second signals; and an adder for providing a spectrometer output by adding the first and the second signals.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a stamping device for use in facsimile equipment, wherein a document has a mark stamped hereon after its information has been transmitted. The stamp device is composed of a stamp body which has a stamp face for marking the document and a handling knob; a mounting plate for detachably holding the stamp body; and a solenoid for moving the mounting plate, whereby the stamp face is pressed onto the document so as to stamp the mark. The stamp body and the mounting plate are shaped so that the stamp body is engaged with a freely removed from the mounting plate by using the knob of the stamp body.

    Abstract: A device for detachably mounting a manuscript on a rotary cylindrical drum for cylinder scanning type facsimiles. The device comprises a cam operating lever rotatable together with a drum cover, a segmental cam provided at its peripheral edge with stepped cam surface portions, and an arm for operating the clamping bar and having one end rotatably supported by a pin threadedly engaged with a shaft which is perpendicular to the pin and rotatable about its axis, the free end of the arm being resiliently urged against the stepped cam surface portions of the segmental cam and having a block piece for selectively operating the clamping bar. The selective operation of the drum cover only permits to raise the clamping bar from the rotary cylindrical drum so as to remove the manuscript and stop the rotary cylindrical drum and lower the clamping bar toward the rotary cylindrical drum so as to clamp the manuscript to the rotary cylindrical drum and rotate the rotary cylindrical drum.
