Abstract: A printing system includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry acquires print data of a plurality of pages and extracts comparison data from the print data for each page. The processing circuitry, from first image data read from a printed material on which the print data is printed, acquires second image data at a position corresponding to the comparison data, for each page of the printed material. The processing circuitry outputs a comparison result of the comparison data and the read image data for each page.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for time based network addresses. A network packet is received over a network by a first computing device from a second computing device. The network packet contains a time-dependent destination address for a third computing device, such as a time-dependent internet protocol version 6 (IPv6) address. The time-dependent destination address contains a time-dependent checksum based at least in part on a current time and an encryption key associated with the third computing device. The checksum is validated upon receipt. In response to a determination that the checksum is valid, the network packet is forwarded to the third computing device.

Abstract: A system and method for filling light for signal communication are provided. The system may include at least one transmission controller. The at least one transmission controller may include a closed loop suppression module coupled to a node and a Video Output, wherein the Video Output is configured to output a reverse control signal, the node is coupled to the Video Output and is configured to receive the reverse control signal, and the closed loop suppression module is configured to: receive the reverse control signal, and adjust at least one of a voltage of the node or a voltage of the Video Output according to the voltage of the reverse control signal.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, an image forming apparatus includes at least one storage device, a detection unit, and a control unit. The at least one storage device is logically dividable into a plurality of storage areas each capable of construction of a file system. The detection unit detects an abnormal access to the storage device. The control unit, in response to detection of the abnormal access, performs, for a storage area in which the abnormal access is detected, a recovery action corresponding to the storage area. If the storage area in which the abnormal access is detected does not correspond to a predetermined storage area, the control unit checks and fixes the storage area as the recovery action for the storage area in which the abnormal access is detected.

Abstract: Provided are a printed matter inspection device and a printed matter inspection method for appropriately determining visibility of a streaky concentration defect, regardless of the size of a variation of pixel values of an image. A printed matter inspection device determines visibility of a streak from a basic streak intensity that is an intensity of the streak detected from a printed matter, color information and frequency feature information on a streak near-field area that is continuous from an area of the streak and has a variation of image feature amounts that is within a predetermined first range, and frequency feature information on an outer peripheral area that is in contact with the streak near-field area, and determines whether the quality of the printed matter is good or not on the basis of at least the visibility.

Abstract: There is provided a method and system to manage multiple levels of privacy in a document having a plurality of elements. In accordance with the method, a selection of a first element in the document is received. The first element is tagged with a selected first privacy level of a hierarchical privacy level list. The list includes a plurality of hierarchical levels of privacy associated with a controlling authority. A selection of a second element in the document is received. The selected second element is tagged with a selected second privacy level of the hierarchical privacy level list.

Abstract: A printer including: a printhead; and a processor that controls the printhead. The processor, when data including print data of one transaction is received from an external device, acquires from the received data the print data and a first error detection code the external device calculated from the print data, calculates a second error detection code from the acquired printer, determines whether or not the first error detection code and the second error detection code match, and sends to the external device evaluation result data indicating the evaluation result. When the first error detection code and second error detection code match, the processor prints by the printhead based on the acquired print data; and when first error detection code and second error detection code do not match, discards the received data.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for authenticating image files when network connections should not or cannot be used to transfer image files. A user device application may capture an image at a user device, generate an image file, and generate a hash file based on the image file. Instead of sending the image file to an authentication server for authentication, the application may send the hash file. If desired, the application may transfer the image file when a desirable network connection is available. Any alteration to the image file in the meantime will result in a different hash file for the altered image file, thus allowing detection of altered image files. This approach offers decreases the amount of data that is required to be transmitted in low or undesirable signal conditions, while maintaining an ability to detect alterations to image files that may have been made in the meantime.

Abstract: Methods, systems and computer readable media are provide for protecting stored data from ransomware. In an embodiment, the data is stored in an external drive connected to the processor. The connection between the processor and external drive is interrupted (e.g., open) except during a data transfer between the processor and the external drive. Connection of the processor to the external drive, permitted for a time period specified by a user or until the transfer of data is complete, occurs in response to manual actuation of a control means interposed between the processor and external drive and optionally, an indication from the user computing system that malware has not been detected on the device. The control means may be a mechanical switch or a fingerprint authentication device.

Abstract: A printed document manager manages printed documents and is separate from a Document Management System (DMS) that manages electronic soft copy documents also known as source documents. Documents in a DMS repository are registered in a postmark registry by a registration agent. When a document that is registered in the postmark registry is printed, a graphical symbol referred to as a “postmark” is generated and inserted into the print stream so the postmark is printed on the hard copy of the document. The printed document is logged in a printed document store along with metadata associated with the printed document. The postmark on the printed document can be used for one or more purposes, such as to determine whether the printed document can be shredded after use and to determine whether the printed document is current.

Abstract: A decurler method and apparatus that compensates for ink contamination buildup on an indent roll of a decurler in aqueous ink jet products that can lead to paper wrinkle. A gap between the centers of the indent roll and a soft roll is increased to prevent sheet wrinkle by employing an algorithm that determines when the rolls are in contact and are first matching speed with each other and then treats this position as a home position.

Abstract: A process is directed to the generation and processing of server identification data by a network computing provider. A client computing device transmits data identifying a server associated with a content source. The identification data can include a digital certificate signed by a third-party certificate authority, a DNS record from a third-party DNS server, etc. The network computing provider comprises one or more physical computing devices for processing the identification data received from any number of client computing devices. The network computing provider can alert the client computing device, content source, or DNS server when erroneous or potentially fraudulent identification data is detected. The network computing provider can also store the identification data and provide content sources and DNS servers with access to the identification data received from client computing devices.

Abstract: A method for encrypting application layer packets, including UDPTL data used by T.38 FOIP devices, for securing transmission of Fax communications over the Internet. In one embodiment, a client side SIPCryptAgent is provided and operably installed on the user's Fax or Voice over IP server/device. Similarly, a server side SIPCryptAgent is installed on the SBC servers at the service provider. The client side SIPCryptAgent acts as a proxy for the Fax device thereby receiving all data sent out by the Fax device and encrypting the SIP and media packets of the Fax device using a lightweight protocol before sending them to the SBC servers. Similarly, the server side acts as a proxy for the SBC servers and encrypts outgoing data and decrypts incoming data so that the exchange of data over the Internet between the client side CryptAgent and the server side CryptAgent is done in a secure, encrypted and real time manner.

The overall band is obtained by converting an image processing capability of the apparatus into a band. The controller controls the communication unit so as to communicate with the external device for the request permitted by the permission unit.

Abstract: A method of performing handshaking between fax machines on the basis of T.30 protocol includes transmitting information on a first data rate selected to transmit a fax document to a receiving-side fax machine, transmitting a plurality of frames including bit strings predefined to test data transmission/reception at the first data rate prior to transmitting the fax document to the receiving-side fax machine, and receiving a message informing success or failure of the test. During the SAS protocol discovery process, the virtual mapping device generates the SAS domain map by acquiring the device name and the device port for each concentrator port that interfaces with a device.
