  • Patent number: 8294910
Abstract: An image scanner operates in a normal mode in which an image scanning process is executable; and a power saving mode in which less electric power is consumed than in the normal mode. The image scanner includes: a CPU for switching the image scanner between the normal mode and the power saving mode; an original size sensor circuit; and an FPGA connected to the CPU and the original size sensor circuit. In the normal mode, the CPU configures, in the FPGA, a normal-mode circuit needed for the image scanning process. When the image scanner transfers from the normal mode to the power saving mode, the CPU configures, in the FPGA, a power-saving-mode circuit for communicating with the original size sensor circuit, and stops the original size sensor circuit from operating. The power-saving-mode circuit is smaller in circuit size than the normal-mode circuit.

  • Patent number: 7602534
Abstract: A CPU and an image memory are provided in a printing apparatus. An interface circuit device for inputting/outputting signals representing image data is interposed between the CPU and the image memory. The interface circuit device constitutes of a plurality of SSTL circuits. One of two adjoining pixels in image data is changed into a non-inverted pixel, and the other is changed into an inverted pixel. In the SSTL circuits, to which inputted is a signal representing the one pixel, an input signal is inputted so as not to invert an input signal. In the SSTL circuits, to which inputted is a signal representing the other pixel as an inverted element, an input signal is inputted to the inverted element so as to invert an input signal. This suppresses an increase in cost and an increase in the size of a device, while reducing the current in impedance matching.

Abstract: In a television receiver, a microprocessor controls a horizontal deflection circuit which is coupled to run mode power supply to define a standby operating mode and a run operating mode. The microprocessor has a power-up reset input terminal which initializes operation upon application of AC mains power. The run mode power supply is coupled to at least one load which is subject to overcurrent or overvoltage faults. A fault detection circuit detects fault conditions in the run mode power supply loads such as overvoltage or overcurrent and anomalous vertical deflection current. Upon fault detection the fault detection circuit triggers a power up reset circuit which applies a momentary reset pulse to the power-up reset input of the microprocessor. Upon receipt of the reset pulse, the microprocessor controls the horizontal deflection circuit to place the run mode power supply in the standby operating mode.
