Abstract: When the time period is night, processing advances to step S13 to set the initialization speed of a line feed motor to the first speed (v1), and to step S15 to execute initialization operation of the line feed motor at the first speed (v1). When the time period is morning or daytime, the processing advances to step S12 to detect a cover open/closed state. When the cover is open, the processing advances to step S13 to set the initialization speed of the line feed motor to the first speed (v1). When the cover is closed, the processing advances to step S14 to set the initialization speed of the line feed motor to the second speed (v2) which is higher than the first speed (v1). • Patent number: 7227672
Abstract: In a gear changing device, when a sun gear rotates in a forward direction, a rotating member is rotated in the same direction as the sun gear and planetary gears are pivotally rotated around the sun gear. When the sun gear rotates in a reverse direction, the rotating member stops rotating and allows the planetary gears to rotate on axes thereof to a plurality of predetermined positions on a path of the planetary gear that pivotally rotates. A plurality of transmission gears are provided at a plurality of predetermined positions along the path of the planetary gear pivotally rotating, so as to engage with each of the planetary gears. A plurality of recesses and projections that are recessed and protruded, respectively, in the diametrical direction of the rotating member are alternately formed in an outer periphery of the rotating member. Each of the recesses and projections has a specific width. A sensor switch that detects the recesses and the projections at a predetermined position is provided.

Abstract: A power supply switching apparatus for a facsimile machine includes a power supply switch, a switch controller and a capacitor-based power supply. The power supply switch is configured to selectively couple and decouple a power supply to a facsimile machine. The switch controller is communicatively coupled to the power supply switch and is configured to control the power supply switch in response to the satisfaction of one or more switch criteria. The capacitor-based power supply is communicatively coupled to and provides power to the power supply switch, for example, when the power supply switching apparatus is operating in a standby mode, or any other time the switch controller needs power. Other embodiments include the use of a second power supply to recharge the capacitor-based switch power supply and a switch trigger instead of a switch controller.

  • Patent number: 5491511
Abstract: A multimedia capture and audit system for a video surveillance network provides a tamper resistant and easily reviewable record of each transaction monitored. The system stores a digital record of each physical transaction registered by an electronic device in a standard predefined database format and stores a separate mixed composite video signal containing both a visual record and digital record of each transaction. The separately stored digital record and mixed composite video signal are correlated through the use of a unique system pointer. In the preferred embodiment, the unique system pointer identifies, at a minimum, the electronic device which registered the physical transaction and the date and time of the transaction. Storage of both a mixed composite video signal and digital record makes it difficult to tamper with the transaction record while maintaining a record of each transaction in a digital format provides operators the ability to compile and analyze data for audit purposes.
