  • Patent number: 11252290
Abstract: To enable a user to, in a case where the user scans a plurality of documents en bloc and acquires an image in units of documents by using a multi-cropping function and metadata thereon, reacquire them efficiently. A configuration is designed so that scan processing can be performed again in a preview display of the image corresponding to each document obtained by multi-cropping and it is made possible for a user to perform the scan again in a case where the user checks the scanned contents by the preview display and determines that the scan has not been performed accurately. Then, for the scanned image obtained by the re-scan, necessary analysis processing is performed only for the document for which it becomes necessary to perform the scan again.

Abstract: Defining color separation for printing an image is disclosed. A color separation model is created. The model comprises a separation hypercube, wherein each axis of the separation hypercube represents a metric of the printing process and each vertex of the separation hypercube at each end of each axis represents the optimized separation of each metric. A weighting for at least one of the metrics represented by the created color separation model is determined. The determined weighting is applied to each of the vertices of the created color separation model to determine new vertices. A new color separation model based on the determined new vertices is created.

  • Patent number: 8274710
Abstract: Input image data is converted into a brightness component to obtain a difference between the brightness component and a threshold. A count variation is determined based on the obtained difference, and the counter is used to follow up and change the threshold. The threshold obtained by the follow-up and change is used to execute a background color removal process in each pixel by executing a signal conversion process.

  • Patent number: 8259358
Abstract: A method for eliminating moire in scanned digital image comprises the steps of using an average circuit for taking weighted average and error diffusing a gray level difference between an error diffusion pixel Gij and neighbor pixels to neighbor to obtain output image pixel Y?ij; using a second adder for subtracting the error diffusion pixel Gij from the output image pixel Y?ij to obtain a neighbor image error dij; using a error filter H(z) to process the neighbor image error dij to obtain a corrected pixel error H(d(i,j)); and using a first adder for adding the corrected pixel error H(d(i,j)) and the input image pixel Yij to obtain the corrected error diffusion pixel Gij, and then jumping to first step until all pixels being processed. The method provides real time treatment for eliminating moire and provide smooth image.

  • Patent number: 8237993
Abstract: In order to prevent illegal copying more effectively in an image forming apparatus, when a specified ground pattern for preventing copying is detected in input image data, the detected ground pattern is emphasized in the image data. Alternatively, information for detecting the specified ground pattern is stored in a storage device, in order to detect the ground pattern with the stored information. When the ground pattern is not detected, a ground region in the image data is analyzed further to determine whether a different ground pattern exits or not. When a ground pattern is detected, information for detecting the ground pattern is stored in the storing device.

  • Patent number: 8199385
Abstract: An image forming apparatus to save toner, which can increase the sharpness of printed data (for example, images or characters) on a printing medium while achieving toner saving, and a method to control the same. The image forming apparatus includes a determinator, a storage unit, and a halftoning processor. The determinator receives a command signal to print and then determines whether or not the received command signal is a command signal for a toner saving mode. The storage unit stores a halftone table in which an LPI higher than a normal LPI is set. If the received command signal is a command signal for the toner saving mode, the halftoning processor generates and outputs halftoning result by comparing gray level values corresponding to pixels of received input image data with grayscale values of the stored halftone table.

Abstract: An analog front-end circuit includes an analog processing circuit, an A/D converter, a calculation circuit, and a target register in which a black level target value is set. The analog processing circuit includes a clamp circuit that performs a line clamp operation, and an offset adjustment circuit. The calculation circuit monitors an A/D-converted value of a black reference pixel after the line clamp operation in a black level monitor period after a line clamp period but before an effective pixel output period, and performs a black level error correction process by writing an offset adjustment value that causes the A/D-converted value to be set at the black level target value into the offset adjustment register.
