Abstract: An oscillating liquid lens and imaging system and method employing the lens are provided. The liquid lens includes a substrate with a channel opening extending therethrough between a first and second surface. A liquid drop is disposed within the channel and is sized with a first droplet portion, including a first capillary surface, protruding away from the first surface, and a second droplet portion, including a second capillary surface, protruding away from the second surface. The liquid lens further includes an oscillator operatively coupled to either the first droplet portion or the second droplet portion for oscillating the liquid drop within the channel. The imaging system, in addition to the oscillating liquid lens, also includes an image sensor coupled to an image path which passes through the first and second droplet portions for capturing one or more images through the oscillating liquid drop.

Abstract: A scanning mechanism that scans a scanning object with a light beam has light-collecting means for collecting the light beam that is emitted by a light source; driving means for driving the light-collecting means in a direction orthogonal to an optical axis of the light-collecting means; first reflecting means provided near a first side of the scanning object, for reflecting the light beam collected by the light-collecting means to allow the light beam to be incident on the scanning object; and second reflecting means provided near a second side of the scanning object that is opposite to the first side of the scanning object, for reflecting the light beam collected by the light-collecting means to allow the light beam to be incident on the scanning object.

Abstract: A display device includes a laser light source, refraction means for refracting a laser beam emitted from the laser light source, and scan means for scanning the refracted laser beam by driving the refraction means. Further, in the display device, the scan means includes first scan means and second scan means that change a position of the refraction means with respect to the laser light source along two directions orthogonal to each other. Further, the refraction means includes first refraction means driven by the first scan means and second refraction means driven by the second scan means.
