  • Patent number: 5225932
Abstract: An eyecup insert is provided which allows easy attachment and removal of an eyecup from an associated night vision goggle. The eyecup provides a light secure seal when pressed against the head of an operator of the goggle. A connecting end of the eyecup has annular channel which engages the insert. The insert is ring shaped with a central aperture having a plurality of detents protruding inwardly of the aperture. The operator can form a snap-fit connection between the eyecup and the goggle by forcing the aperture over a circular flange which surrounds an eyepiece of the goggle until the detents have snapped passed the flange. The eyecup can be removed by reversing the installation procedure.

  • Patent number: 5221991
Abstract: A device to secure binoculars to a tripod having a rectangularly shaped base plate of a durable material, a rectangularly shaped compressible resilient pad made of a high density closed cell foam material operably attached to the top side of the base, a holding plate situated centrally to the resilient pad and operably attached to the base, the holding plate securing the central point of an elongated flexible holding strap. The opposite ends of the strap emerging from under the holding plate provide a pair of loops to receive the monocular barrels of a pair of binoculars. The ends of the straps pass through individual openings at each end of the base not covered by the pad. At each end of the holding strap is a hook type cloth fastening material and a loop type cloth fastening material, each end of the strap passing through a respective oval opening to return on itself, the hook and loop fastening means engaging, thus securing the binoculars in place.

  • Patent number: 5206757
Abstract: A field glasses comprising a flat, rectangular bottom shell, a flat, rectangular cover shell, an object lens assembly pivoted to said bottom shell at one end and supported by a torsional spring into a vertical position, an eyepiece assembly pivoted to said bottom shell at an opposite end and supported by a torsional spring into a vertical position permitting the eyepieces thereof to be respectively in line with the object lenses on said object lens assembly, and two opposite folding side strips foldably connected between said bottom shell and said cover shell at two opposite sides. Pushing said object lens assembly and said eyepiece assembly inwards respectively causes the field glasses to be collapsed into a flat, pocket size structure for carrying in a pocket.
