Abstract: There are provided a wire wound inductor and a manufacturing method thereof according to an exemplary embodiment in the present disclosure. The wire wound inductor according to an exemplary embodiment in the present disclosure includes a winding coil, a magnetic core embedding the winding coil, and an adhesive portion disposed between the magnetic core and the winding coil and enclosing the winding coil.

Abstract: A manufacturing method of a thin-film element having a lower layer with a narrower width is provided, which comprises steps of: forming a first film and a second film on the first film; forming a second layer having a width WUP obtained by trimming the second film; forming a mask film having a smaller etching rate than the first film so as to cover the second layer; forming a pattern having a width WTR larger than the width WUP, obtained by collectively trimming the mask film covering the second layer and at least an upper portion of the first film; and forming a first layer having a width WLO smaller than the width WUP or having a portion with a width WLO smaller than the width WUP, obtained by trimming the first film without changing the width WUP of the second layer.
Abstract: A magnetic disk drive head is disclosed including a write head, which includes a P1 layer having a pedestal portion, a gap layer formed on the P1 layer, and a P2 layer formed on the gap layer. The P1 layer includes a shoulder formation having a neck portion and a beveled portion. Also disclosed is a disk drive having a write head with a P1 layer with shoulder formation, and a method for fabricating a write pole for a magnetic recording head having a P1 layer with shoulder formation.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a pole tip structure having a shape for preventing over saturation of the pole tip structure is disclosed. A cap layer having a tail structure for reducing the saturation of the cap layer is formed over the pole structure. The tail structure includes an angled surface that can vary between approximately 15° and 65°.
