Abstract: A system for checking the consistency between a digital video master and a duplicate video. Both the digital video master and the duplicate digital video have digital data, the digital data composed of a plurality of data segments. A loader module receives the digital data of the digital video master and the duplicate digital video. A comparison module then retrieves the digital data of the digital video master and the duplicate digital video and performs a data segment by data segment comparison between the digital data of the digital video master and the digital data of the duplicate digital video. The comparison module indicates any discrepancies between the digital video master and the duplicate digital video.

  • Patent number: 6292852
Abstract: A multiple-media duplicating system concurrently copies digital data from a master media to several copy media. The system includes a master input/output (“I/O”) port and several copy I/O ports equal in number to the number of copy media. A special I/O port, coupled in parallel to each of the copy I/O ports, effects a concurrent transfer of digital data from the master media to all of the copy media. The system may further include a circuit which effects copying of data from the master media to the copy media while concurrently preventing conventional direct access to devices that contain the media. A particularly preferred embodiment further includes an adjustable, variable-frequency generator that is coupled to the digital logic circuit, and supplies a clock signal to the digital logic circuit which determines a rate at which digital data is copied from the master media in parallel to the copy media.

Abstract: Partial information such as the beginning data of each of chapters is read from a CD and written in a HDD 10 at a higher speed than that in a normal reproduction while the normal reproduction is carried out using a buffer memory 8. After the chapters relative to all CDs have been written in the HDD 10, reproduction is carried out in switching between the information remaining in the HDD 10 and the information included in the CD. This configuration makes it unnecessary to record the information beforehand, and permits an unreproduciable blank in reproduction to be filled with audio information during track search or CD change while the reproduction is carried out normally.

Abstract: Copying, dubbing or reproducing copyrighted digital data can be inhibited or restricted to properly protect a copyright. AV data recorded on a pre-recorded tape is output from a reproducing unit of a first digital VCR with protective information indicating whether the copy of the AV data is inhibited or not. The protective information is input with the A/V data to a second digital VCR. Copy permission information of a blank tape loaded in the second digital VCR is discriminated and the second digital VCR records the AV data supplied from the first digital VCR based on the protective information and the copy permission information.

Abstract: Disclosed is a high speed copying system for use in a double-deck video apparatus, which includes a system controller responsive to input copy speed data for generating control signals that generally control operation of the system. First and second switches are responsive to at least one of the control signals supplied from the system controller for supplying power to first and second recording heads. First and second filters are used to filter an output signal picked up by a pick-up means in response to one of the control signals relating to a copy mode from the system controller. Each filter has a passband that includes a frequency Nfc, where N is a number related to copy speed and fc is a reference carrier frequency. Automatic gain control circuits may be used to automatically control gain of the signals output from the respective filters for application to the recording heads. Abstract: Servo-pattern information is magnetically recorded on a product disc by magnetic print-through from a master medium. The master servo-writing medium is brought into close proximity with the product “slave” disc, and the two are subjected to an external magnetic field which assists in transferring magnetic servo-patterns to the slave disc in a print-through process. The preferred external magnetic field alternates and rotates with respect to the master/slave combination. In an alternative product disc structure, the magnetic layer is magnetically altered in a servo-pattern configuration. Non-magnetic portions of the servo pattern are created which define both gray code and servo burst information for the product disc.

Abstract: A signal recording device includes a signal inputting unit for inputting a signal to be recorded on a recording medium, as well as a dropout detector which detects a dropout portion of a signal output from the signal inputting unit and generates a pulse signal corresponding to the detected dropout portion. A muter mutes the signal output from the signal inputting unit during the pulse signal period. The signal recording device records on a recording medium, a signal output from the signal muter during the pulse signal period and a signal output from the signal inputting unit during all other times. Therefore, in the signal recording device of the present invention, since a signal during a dropout period is muted before being recorded, upon playback of the recorded signal, a dropout compensator in a reproducing device identifies the muted signal period as the dropout period and accurately compensates for the dropout. Therefore, noise caused by the dropout can be prevented.

On the basis of the inputted cassette management information, the microcomputer creates cassette management information corresponding to a program to be dubbed to store the same into the integrated-circuit memory. If the size of a block to be sent is not one byte, the difference is sent as an error byte to the source recorder 102t.

Abstract: A high-speed dubbing system which is not a complicated system adjusts phase shifts to return a plurality of multiple divided master tape audio signals to a time series signal array which is the same as that of the original master tape signal. The dubbing system has a continuous digital audio signal obtained by playing back the master tape at a nominal playback speed; the audio signal is divided by a specified division unit and an array of data blocks is obtained and converted to generate N units of divided master tape playback signals, a specified length portion of each data blocks of the N systems of divided master tape playback signals is replaced by phase matching code data. The N systems of divided master tape playback signals are intermittently recorded onto tape at the nominal playback speed to produce N divided master tapes. These N divided master tapes are played back simultaneously and in synchronism to obtain N systems of playback signals.

Abstract: A character and/or graphics pattern area for recording specific data is provided on a CD-ROM. When an original disk is prepared, a specific pit pattern corresponding to the specific data is recorded at a first predetermined tracking linear velocity controlled by a specific tracking linear velocity control system for each track so that a character and/or graphics pattern cannot be identified. When a copy disk is produced from the original disk, if data is recorded at a second tracking linear velocity controlled by a specific tracking linear velocity control system, the character and/or graphics pattern of visible size appears on the copy disk because of an optical reflection factor difference between areas caused by placement of the specific pit pattern corresponding to the specific data.
