Abstract: There are provided an information recording medium, an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a computer program, which can realize users' convenience for using content in accordance with a license and copyright protection. An information recording medium stores an encrypted content file including encrypted content, usage right information of the encrypted content, and encryption key information necessary for a decrypting process for the encrypted content. Thus, a user can acquire a license (usage right information) and key information necessary for decryption of the content, together with the content, from the information recording medium, without acquiring the license (usage rights) by connection to a license provider.
Abstract: A system and method are realized which enables valid use of content by preventing unauthorized use of content which is caused by rewriting rights data. A structure is employed in which rights data including use-restriction information on content and DRM data including an encrypted content key are recorded in a digital data recording medium (media), and in which an integrity check value (ICV) for the DRM data can be stored in a recordable/playable area (protected area) by using only a dedicated IC. EKB distribution is used to execute the tree-structure key distribution to distribute keys for generating ICV-generation verifying keys. In this structure, unauthorized use of content by rewriting of the rights data is prevented.
Abstract: A rotary head drum apparatus includes a stator drum. A rotary drum is provided with a plurality of magnetic heads and rotates the magnetic heads. The rotary drum is mounted for rotational movement with respect to the stator drum. A rotary transformer includes a stator-side rotary transformer provided on the stator drum and a rotating-side rotary transformer fixed to the rotary drum. The stator-side rotary transformer and the rotating-side rotary transformer are adapted to send and receive signals to each other. An adhesive providing gap is disposed between the rotating-side rotary transformer and the rotary drum for receiving an adhesive for bonding the rotating-side rotary transformer to the rotary drum. An adhesive splashing prevention part is provided on the rotating-side rotary transformer and receives adhesive splashing from the adhesive providing gap.
Abstract: A method of determining a transfer speed of an encoded data signal including a clock signal and a data signal is provided. First, the encoded data signal is decoded to generate a decoded clock signal. Then, a data transfer speed of the encoded data signal is determined using the decoded clock signal.
Abstract: The invention provides a signal transmission apparatus using a rotary transformer by which a wide bandwidth and a high transfer rate can be used without a significant increase of the cost. The signal transmission apparatus includes a transmission side circuit and a reception side circuit between which a rotary transformer is interposed. A passive element circuit including an inductance element is connected to an output stage of the rotary transformer in parallel to the transformer. The passive element circuit has an inductance value set substantially equal to or lower than an equivalent inductance value when the circuit of the rotary transformer side is viewed from the reception side circuit.

The rotary drum is mounted for rotational movement with respect to the stator drum. A rotary transformer includes a stator-side rotary transformer provided on the stator drum and a rotating-side rotary transformer fixed to the rotary drum.
Abstract: A core chip includes a magnetic core having a magnetic gap and a coil formed around the magnetic core. A head base includes a first main face on which a wiring pattern is formed, and a second main face on which the core chip is mounted. A conductive wire derived from the coil is electrically connected by extending only via the first main face. One end portion of the first main face is slanted and the core chip is mounted on the one end portion of the second main face. A recess or a slit is formed on the slanted portion of the first main face to extend the conductive wire therein.
Abstract: An assembly including at least one chip with an embedded magnetic head. A base and/or a cover includes at least partially a housing in which the at least one chip is embedded. Such an assembly may find particular application to a magnetic recording system.
Abstract: A helical scan magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus incorporating an MR head to serve as a reproducing magnetic head is arranged to convert data which is recorded on a magnetic tape into data in the form of DC-free code trains. The magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus is provided with a high-pass filter for attenuating low-frequency components of a reproduced signal detected by the MR head. Moreover, a demodulating circuit is provided which demodulates data in a state before data is converted into the DC-free code trains from the reproduced signal, in which the low-frequency components have been attenuated by said high-pass filter. As a result, noise (thermal asperities) in a low-frequency region caused when the magnetic tape and the MR head are brought into contact with each other is removed so that a reproduced output free from excessive noise is obtained. The high-pass filter is, for example, a rotary transformer mounted on rotational drum.
Abstract: A head drum for a magnetic tape apparatus includes a stationary lower cylinder and a rotating upper cylinder on which at least one write/read head is securely arranged and interacts with a magnetic tape with an exchange of electromagnetic signals. Also provided are at least one amplifier which rotates together with an upper cylinder and amplifies the signals coming from the write/read head, and a rotating transformer for transferring electrical signals between the stationary lower cylinder and the rotating upper cylinder. Storage means for electrical energy arranged on the rotating upper cylinder is capable of supplying electrical power to all the electronic components rotating together with the upper cylinder. A controller is securely arranged on the rotating upper cylinder for monitoring the charge state of the storage means and controlling the duration of the energy transfer as a function of the charge state.
